Here's the unpopular truth: 2021 is Georgia and everyone else.

I’ve been very clear about this. I am most definitely blaming Saban. I understand why he’s keeping Golding and I think it’s a mistake. I know your mind can’t comprehend how the goat could be wrong, but it happens. When you come to grips with that truth, you’ll be devastated but then you’ll begin the journey towards true healing.

Oh yeah, please tell me why Saban is keeping Golding. I can't wait to hear it.

Meanwhile, LSU has 7 points after a trick play on 4th down, a PI call and a blown coverage on the first drive.

If Alabama plays Georgia, it won't be the defense that loses the game.

Let’s have lunch next week to discuss. I’m pretty sure we can come to an arrangement.

Don't play with me. We have pretty clear standards on retardation in our head coach.

It’s pretty obvious. He’s choosing a lesser talent in order to avoid turnover at that position. Losing a coordinator every 3 years is massively disruptive to continuity in coaching and recruiting. He believes he can influence Golding and the D enough to offset the lack of talent but evidence on the field shows he’s wrong.

We just blitzed 28 people and not a single one got close to the QB. Not saying your standards aren’t impressive but I think Golding can live up to that legacy.

Yep, the 7 points we've given up on the first drive is evidence on the field that he's wrong.

You guys are idiots. I love it, 3 years now you dumbasses keep saying this stupid shite, and every year you get sad.

I’m going to quote Adam Grant (fantastic author/thinker, I highly recommend), and though it’s a business context, I think it applies perfectly here:

A bad process with a good outcome is luck. A good process with a bad outcome might be a smart experiment.

The outcome for our defense is sometimes good, sometimes not. But it’s not about the outcome. In fact, that is the very core of what Saban preaches. Don’t look at the scoreboard. The stats won’t always tell you the true story. Look at the job you had to do on every play. If you understand defensive schemes and skills, it’s not hard to see that under Golding we are worse off in those micro transactions. We have elite talent that plays poorly. For the first time since Saban came to Alabama, players are not being coached up on defense year over year. This isn’t hard to see if you’re open to the fact that Saban isn’t perfect.

Our defense is inconsistent due to a few reasons.

You on the other hand are an idiot.

Point of order. It is common knowledge, save "3rddown10's" perspective

How about you think the DC is the only coach on the defense.

I've been with you on a lot of it, but at some point the DC is responsible for player development, holding D coaches responsible, and overall accountability

He IS responsible for them.

The HC span of control is OC, DC, and STs.

All they do and fail to do is on their shoulders

Golding knows Xs and Os, just not how to lead others to get there and get their players there with regularity... or hold them accountable for it

He's in over his head

Yes you did. You were talking about "micro transactions" and that you see things inside the plays that players are doing wrong. Things of course none you ever mention specifically.

And yet the only coach you blame is Golding. As if he is the only coach, while naming things that would fall on many coaches.

The truth is, the team is inconsistent because they are young and don't seem to have drive/leadership. They damn sure aren't near physical enough, especially HTT who I think I've seen make 1 solo tackle all year. He got a "sack" but only because the QB fell down after getting abused by Will Anderson all night long.

Almost all of them will be coming back next year, and we've got a hell of a class from recruiting last year(which Golding is a big player in).

Meanwhile, it's clearly our offense that is struggling tonight. Not the defense.
