Do we really need a political board to discuss a 52 year old historical event? This wasn't political, it was objectively historical, until the commies of the SEC Rant made it political, then pointed at the thread and said "This is political! Censor it!"

You are the one who needs to check his facts. I lived during these times and I know what happened. A relative and a family friend died in this unholy war after being drafted to go kill people in a war they opposed. Back then you had limited choices - try to bribe someone at the county draft office to get in the guard, move to Canada or get on the plane to Viet Nam. There was a draft lottery and if your number wasn’t good those were your choices once student deferments ran out. Young people across the entire country were speaking out against a war they wanted no part of. A war that began years ago under the Kennedy and Johnson presidencies and Richard Nixon escalated and refused to end. Kent State happened when the politicians decided to use force to stamp out opposition to this war. A tired exhausted Guard who had been on duty for days was called to KSU and a few rocks being thrown caused a panic and death of students. And it was on a Monday - not a Saturday. Maybe you should do some more research before you spout off on a time you obviously didn’t live thru or die for as the Baby Boomers did
