You sort of skipped over the kmer rouge part dindnja?

You faux conservatives need to make up your mind. Do you want limited government or don't you?

Back then, without laws and an enforcement mechanism, industrial waste was destroying the environment. The EPA at the time was a necessary creation. It has, however, grown and grown and grown and is no longer what it used to be. And actually, looking at history, fascists are better than commies, but both are evil. Today we don't really have any real fascism outside of Ukraine. But there's a shite load of totalitarian authoritarian communism everywhere like a global cancer.

I remember back when Antifa started and when they were storming the beaches in Normandy under gunfire from the people who hate Antifa.

My grandfather always taught me that the only good Nazi is a dead one.

Lemme guess, you also support Ukraine and the Azov battalion, the government that imprisoned Zel's presidential challenger, seized all media and shut down tv news that didn't carry the government narrative, all of which are hallmarks of facsism.

I support Ukraine.

If you don't, well, then I think everyone knows where your real loyalties lie and it isn't with the United States.

It's a shame that the South still carries the stench of treason after all these years.. all because they hate minorities more than they love freedom and democracy.

As for you in particular, your support for Russia and their war crimes means that you, as an individual and a person, not just a dumbass keyboard warrior, are negative for all of humanity. The world will be a better place when you're gone.

Nixon didn't get us into the war, you can talk all day long about Vietnam but relating to Nixon getting us out of Vietnam, and the crybaby commies at Kent State burning down campus buildings because he wanted to make a sweep through Cambodia to take out Khmer Rouge, has nothing to do with Gulf of Tonkin. And Nixon did end the war. In typical commie fashion, you are changing not only the subject, but the order of operations and the chronology of events. I can tell you are a DU regular.

I would argue DC isn't fascist at the moment, they are authoritarian communists going through transitory socio-fascism, but that is another conversation altogether.

Here it is folks! The elements of the modern day Khmer Rouge. Disagree with a commie, despite facts being on your side, there's no debate. If you disagree with the commie, the country is better off with you dead.

Textbook Cambodia Khmer Rouge.

Pick up a history book, Killean.

Kent State was the result of Nixon forcing young people to fight an unpopular and totally unnecessary war. The draft forced young men to put on uniforms, pick up a gun and kill people in a faraway country to whom they bore no hatred. It was a politicians war - not a war that should have been forced on 19 year olds. I don’t blame the Guard. From what I’ve read many of them were kids no older than the students, who had joined the Guard to avoid Viet Nam.
I believe they had just been called up to tamp down a union strike. They were there for several days and then were then sent immediately to Kent State, exhausted with no rest. Someone panicked when rocks were being thrown in what was a peaceful demonstration in the middle of the day. 4 were killed - one a young girl who was not in the demonstration but walking to class - and others paralyzed and injured. It was a thing that should have never happened. Nixon and his ungodly policies were to blame. Not the students and not the Guard. The Baby Boomers wanted no part of his war and their refusal to become cannon fodder was understandable. Too many young lives had already been lost.Nixon and his enablers response to their protests was unforgivable

That's like saying invading Iraq and all the conflicts in the Middle East over 20-plus years had nothing to do with 9/11.

The government shooting government operatives would have been pretty crazy.

More revisionist bullshite. Do the research.

Johnson instituted the draft in 1965. Not Nixon.

The war was definitely unpopular, but it could be argued either way whether it was necessary or not.

It was not a random peaceful demonstration during the day. It was day four of riots, the "demostrators" had just burned down a campus building. They were burning cars in Kent. They were destroying storefronts. That's why the mayor, the president of the university, and the governor of Ohio called in the Ohio national guard. The local police couldn't handle the situation. When the guard show up, it was assumed the show of force would tamp down any of the "peaceful" demonstrators just by their presence. It did not. It made the mob more angry.

No young girl was killed walking to class. It was on a Saturday, there were no classes. In fact the university was shut down due to the emergency situation. More bullshite.

Nixon's policy that you say was to blame was to have a responsible exit from Vietnam (didn't happen, but that was the goal) was to do a sweep through Cambodia to take out the people that we knew would immediately swoop in and be like the Afghanistan withdrawal you just saw the pentagon frick up last year. When Nixon announced one more sweep before withdrawal, that's when these "peaceful" hippie protestors started destroying the town and burning down campus buildings.

Facts.

Defense Secretary Chris Miller stated that Trump did request National Guard troops ahead of the protest.

If only a political board existed!

Perhaps there might be mods there, that would clamp down on the backwoods bubba's who try to champion their 9th grade social studies course on others that know better ?

Are you serious Clark? That board is 95% backwoods bubba's championing their 9th grade social studies course, including the mods.

Well, that and a race to be the first to parrot what they just heard on FOX News.
