Didn't most ADs want him to do it? Seems like he is going with the option most choose.....not sure how that is power-hungry.

Like Covid & Vaccines, I see many sheep here that still bought the Mainstream Sports + Social Media's faux outrage/spectacle, instead of doing your own research.
Many opposing fanbases' brains have forced them into clinical Denial out of fear/envy of LSU.
Most Sport's journalists, networks, podcasters have already "flipped the script" on the SEC and are supporting LSU. Wait till all the actual, true facts, details come out. It's FAR worse for Sankey, SEC et al AND perhaps even other school's presidents.
SEC, Sankey & their Refs better be super careful. Like usual, always they will flag LSU (and other schools besides Alabama). With Kiffin and this LSU team it likely won't matter. I feel actual empathy/sympathy for any LSU SEC opponents this year. They were very likely already loosing big; but now, after all the undeserved outrage, threats, etc......the situation has/will become dangerous to opposing players on the field. And I'm NOT trolling!
