I, like many fans, tend to root for the West Coast teams when they play OOC games. It’s not “Riding the coat tails of others.” I grew-up a Husky fan going to my first game in 1958 vs San Jose State. I also went to about 50-60 Cal games when I lived in the Bay Area, including the payback game against Tennessee. Tennessee fans were in shock. I spent many an afternoon in Memorial Stadium watching the Cal Bears getting pushed around. I was also at the LSU/UW game in 2009 where Husky QB Jake Locker threw a pick-6.
