I've seen just as many Confederate flags flying in Texas as I have in SC.
"Just as many"? No--the Texan flag is far more ubiquitous.

there are far better places for opposing fans to hold a rally other than on our statehouse grounds.
Nah, I think y'all's statehouse grounds will suit us just fine, thanks

I'll be surprised if Nicki Haley allows it to happen in those steps. The moment the rah rah A&M stuff starts, someone will not appreciate it.
Well she tried to kick out the Occupy people and got shut down, so I imagine it would be viewed as the same.
Plus Haley is a Clemson grad. Why the frick would she care if aTm did this?

It won't be hard to get them to move it, they had to move yell practice three or four times when A&M came to Fayetteville due to threats of sabotage. I think they ended up doing it at a high school 40 minutes away.

I'm sure there are more confederate flags in Texas than SC just because of the scale of things.
Also the state flag is more ubiquitous than the confederate flag in SC as well

Irrelevant. The point is it's a notable landmark in a road venue.
Actually, it's very relevant. You were "yelling" on your own states capital, The people of ATMs Capital. In Columbia y'all will be nothing but intruders parading on sacred ground.

Because she's a politician first and she's already catching some flack for this. She's going to have to do a better job of explaining exactly what it is she's agreed to.
She's already walking a fine line with a lot of people ... she should know better than to make the decision on something like this without giving it some thought.
If they wanna hold a yelling and screaming pep rally let them do it in front of the Pizza Hut on Broad River road or down at the carwash across from the krispy kream in Triangle City. Or hell, let'em raise all the hell they want in the parking lot of the old Sears in Five Points ... or even on the fairgrounds where every other opposing team has gathered over the years.
frick letting them do it on pur statehouse grounds. frick that bullshite. This ain't Austin, Texas.

Perhaps I should have gone with the "per capita" angle

There is no "parading" associated with Midnight Yell. We show up, we chant, we sing, we leave. Not this huge show of disrespect y'all are so determined to make it out to be

The governor is seriously involved in this? I'm telling you guys, if people start organizing a counter-rally, they will move yell practice.
When they came to Fayetteville they weren't even giving the location. It leaked out, so they moved it to a Wal*Mart parking lot. People found out about that so they moved it again. It's really not a big deal.

Again, I don't think Haley has much control over the situation. Its public grounds so people can do whatever they want at whatever hours they want, as long as its not illegal.
Which is why I brought up the Occupy people. She tried to change the rules preventing camping equipment on the state house grounds or something like that and it didn't work. I don't think she has the authority to tell people to get off the state house grounds unless they're doing something illegal.
I'd rather aTm do their pep rally somewhere else, but I don't think expect a Clemson grad governor, or any governor for that matter to do anything about it. And if aTm really wanted to be disrespectful, they could have chosen Longstreet Theater. That location or any other one on campus would have pissed me off.
I would rather them find a high school or public park to do it in though. There are tons in the area.
I suggest AC Flora. Its about 15-20 mins from downtown and has hills around the practice football fields for the yell leaders to stand on and be visible.

In all seriousness, it's just something the rest of the conference will eventually get used to. Just a part of the deal when you play the Aggies--we gon' yell in yo citaaay.
After awhile, you'll see there's really no animosity involved. More about us as Ags than trying to show up whoever we're playing.
But hey, on the bright side, y'all get to rub it in our faces if/when y'all win after we've galavanted in your town most of the weekend. Turnabout is fair play

We're not going to allow y'all to hold a pep rally on our statehouse grounds. It'll cause a major and unnecessary problem if y'all show-up there trying to takeover those grounds. Men died there defending that place. That fycking piece if shite Eric Hyman knows better. It ain't gonna happen TBird. It's not right. Y'all are just going to have to understand - we don't put up with that kind if shite around here.
I'm having a hard time understanding why y'all thought it would be okay in the first place? Who fricking would allow such a fricking thing? shite ... it's beyond my comprehension.

I guess we'll see. It'll be held someplace or other. I'm not going to this one, so it's no skin off my nose either way.

It'll only be a problem if y'all decide to make it one. Midnight Yell is for and about Ags, not y'all.

Just curious, but have yall done this on state house grounds other than Texas' before?

Not sure, I've only been to a handful of away Midnight Yells. If we did it anywhere else, it probably would have been at Oklahoma or Nebraska. They were really the only schools near a capital city other than texas in the big12 and swc.

Yea I was thinking it would have been in Lincoln or Baton Rouge last year. Forgot Norman was the capitol of Oklahoma

No frick no ... I seriously doubt that.
There are more than a few SEC teams located in state capitals and I seriously doubt y'all are going to be allowed to do it at any of them. I can't even picture that being allowed.
WTF can y'all possibly even be thinking trying to come to our state and pull some shite like this?
Y'all obviously have a bigger opinion of yourselves than you should. Having a friendly rivalry is one thing ... but this is something entirely different.
Y'all will be welcomed guests ... but if y'all think y'all are going to take over our statehouse grounds yelling and stomping around about how y'all think y'all are going to whatever ... your expecting liberties that will not be afforded to you uncontested.
frick this bullshite. The phones will be ringing tomorrow.
