So very true and even though this isn't necessarily about Oklahoma it does fit them to a T. They also reap the rewards in that they start off the season ranked every year and recruits see this and it is an advantage.
The thing that really sucks now though is that OU and Texas are coming in at the very time the rest of the conference may be starting to slide. The Horns and Sooners will win a few more than they would normally and the arrogance will be on full display. Danm I hate those guys.

Other than 2019 lsu OU has stacked up well with every sec team they have faced.

What about 2003?
Pretty bold to contend OU didn’t stack up well against LSU in 2003 in a 21-14 loss in which LSU scored a defensive TD and OU had multiple throws to the end zone from the red zone at the end of the game.

OU each time went against the best from that year and they were damn good teams. It’s not like the entire SEC would have beaten us lol. A few things go our way in 2 or 3 of those games and that leads to a few titles. The last LSU and Alabama games withstanding.
We have also had to play in their backyard more than our fair share. LSU in New Orleans and Florida in Miami. OU will be fine- We need to worry about ourselves first though. We are still rebuilding.

I hope you're referring to the teams at the top and the teams that matter in the SEC, Hog fan LOL. If you referring to your Hogs though, 99/100 OU folds Arky over like a lawn chair so don't get that twisted

I've never once seen nor heard a recruit say he chose Oklahoma because we're always ranked.

Wait, are we already making excuses? Are you saying the 6-7 Sooners are able to rebuild faster/better than most of the SEC teams? All we heard last year is how bad OU is and how they will be destroyed in SEC. And 3 games into the followomg season the surrender cobra is being waved.
OU was down and is not all the way back yet. Every team has the same chance to rebuild or reload as we do. I say again, the existing teams in SEC have to also factor in adding OU/tx to their schedules which doesn’t exist now. If we are so beatable then it should be a cakewalk adding us to schedules right.
The whole SEC conf will be harder and likely top third will have an extra loss ot two. But with expanded playoffs and additions SEC will get more teams in playoffs.

OU and TX will be fine in the SEC, they may experience some losses, but they'll be ok. I'm actually worried about it because of recruiting, LSU has gotten some studs out of Texas over the years now we'll have to compete with 3 other SEC teams.

I don't think it will effect LSU recruiting all that much. Texas was always getting a good portion of the top recruits being the flagship school of Texas. And OU was a major player in Texas. I don't think Texas HS recruiting dynamics will change all that much.
What OU is hoping is that being an SEC school will help them to be a little more potent in the SEC footprint itself. Most notably Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana. They also feel like it will help them some nationally.
OU realizes they aren't going to out recruit the top SEC teams in their back yards.... but they are hoping they might get that SEC area DT that right now ends up at Ole Miss, MSU, or South Carolina. That same kid who wouldn't consider OU if they were not SEC.
