Because we had to pay him a significant amount more than Oregon to get him. He's a good recruiter. He's a mediocre coach. Robic is our head assistant. Period.

Serious question, why is Robic never mentioned for any head coaching jobs? How'd Pastner get the Memphis job over him?
Also what makes you say Payne is mediocre? Supposedly he is responsible for the development of both Josh Harrelson and Terrance Jones.

Robic has stated himself that he has no desire to be a head coach at this point. He's happy being Cal's right hand man.

Really? You get the talent he got today, you cheated to get it. He had no history of developing players and sending them to the NBA. How the hell else do you get elite players into Starkville.

WWW will not funnel elite recruits to adidas schools, he steers them towards nike schools.
Now if your AD is dumb enough to hire Payne based on him getting some "elite" recruit, WWW will help with that one as he then has another head coaching connection that "owes" him, he can then funnel mid-major level recruits to a bcs school that makes him look good to kids who desire his "services"...

Most are from Mississippi or have a Mississippi family connection.
Hate all you want on Stansbury as a coach, but he could recruit with the best of them.
