has been an assistant at Kansas since and recruited most of their top players.

With a stop from 99-02 in New Mexico and 02-03 in Wyoming before going to Kansas... from 88-91 he was an assistant at Carolina followed by being an assistant from 92-95 @ ECU.

Jeff Lebo has a winning record there and got them to one of their three post season tournaments (CIT) Tom Quinn and Eddie Payne got them to the NCAAs.

Nebraska hired Tim Miles. I'm surprised MSU didn't show any interest.

And Bundy, doesn't Kansas basically recruit for itself? I would think the name brings in people.

ECU has been to the tournament twice in the existence of their program.

Lebo is the only coach to have had a winning season since Dooley. And he was only 18-16

Hoe did he do at East Carolina as a head coach?

Hoe did he do? He owns 2 of the 3 best seasons East Carolina has had since 1975

Uh, no. They have been to 3 post season tournaments in this time frame and he coached none of the teams who made it there...

He is from Arkansas, went to Arkansas and coached at Arkansas. Not that complicated.

Regardless, he wasn't being serious.

What obsession?

He is the second most famous person to come from Greenwood, Arkansas.

East Carolina has won as many as 17 games in a season only 4 times since 1975- Dooley has two of those seasons

Could be, he is better than going the assistant route, for whatever reason he chose to take over one of the shittiest programs imaginable post UA-FS/UTEP.

So you think Doc Sadler who was just fired at Nebraska is a better fit for Mississippi State than a guy like Joe Dooley.

Are you going to be happy if State hires Dooley?

Is he my first choice? NOPE
BUT I have faith in our AD and if he hires Joe Dooley, I'll support him 100%

It's not about winning the press conference- it's about winning basketball games

That being said- I dont think we are going to hire Dooley

I would think mid major coaches would want to come to State. I didn't think y'all would go the assistant route but nothing says y'all won't end up hiring a guy that's a head coach right now.

It definitely doesn't hurt to have positive momentum for yourself as you start your tenure at your new school though.

Doesnt really help either...the new coach will have fans coming out to watch- no matter who it is- he just needs to get some discipline, S&C, and some balanced recruiting classes coming in

Nobody has a clue who we are going to hire- our AD has kept this on lockdown

Dooley may end up being the guy, but I'll be shocked if he is
