Not a chance. He's coming to the VOLS or no one else. Plus, Shark fricker isn't getting fired anytime soon.

Notre Dame would be more likely.

Because he was successful at a level where it’s much more difficult?

You mean winning the superbowl with Dungee's players?

Not to mention that being a college coach is a totally different animal from being an NFL coach.

it is a different position. It is like taking Bill Gross and turning him into a financial advisor in a small town and saying hey go produce. Make the sell. Half of college football is sales/recruiting. 25% is coaching and 25% is talent management. NFL it is 75% coaching and 25% talent management

Bill Callahan took the Raiders to the Super Bowl but didn't set the world on fire a Nebraska, which is a blue blood. Same goes for Harbaugh at Michigan, another blue blood. But a coach that's been out of coaching for several years is gonna kill it at a school that's NOT a blue blood? Ok...

What is the appeal with this guy? He won a Super Bowl many years ago. Has never been a head coach of a college program where you have to recruit. He has been out of coaching on any level for ever. Why does so many people have a boner over this guy? Or is there a running joke I missed?
