It was amazing to watch the UT mob in full force yesterday, and quite frankly pretty damn funny watching it all.
But it pissed me right off when I kept reading national sports media guys like Herbstreit, Gottlieb, Desmond, Tony Barnhart, basically telling UT fans to STFU and accept the hire. It honestly reminded me of the media shoving Hilary Clinton down our throats but middle America said no.
Basically frick the media of all types, they have no idea what’s best for fans of a certain school.
That said, have fun hiring a Sun Belt coordinator as your coach after this.

I don't blame Tennessee for deciding to back away from that potential powderkeg, their AD should have known better, because those same media fricks the OP referenced would be the first ones to criticize them for the backlash if they did. Todays media is pure garbage

I tend to agree. Any one of us could be next.
When the media gets in lockstep on a story like this, truth and impartiality take a back seat to sensationalism.

At this point Tenn is going to hire an even worse coach than Schiano, so is there going to be another melt and retraction of the hire?

No, I’m not. I completely applaud them for rejecting Schiano, regardless of the accusation, he blows. LSU shouldve reacted the same way to Orgeron.
But the media is trying to convince UT fans that he’d be a great hire and great for the university without knowing jack shite about what those baws in East TN want.

No we will accept who ever it is as long as it is clean. Our sights are set on internal problems now.

UT's true colors are really showing these days... and quite frankly I think bright orange is disgusting.
