I forgive you... But Herschel wasn't half as good as Barry, so your argument is moot.

Yeah. It's awful I called Jackson the greatest athlete the SEC ever had, and had an opinion on him as a running back. I suppose I should have just done what you do and get personal.

It was made clear to everyone from the start that this thread was a comparison between Bo Jackson and other AU running backs and how they compare. You come in with stupid bullshite comparing Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson to him and won't drop it.

Then you talk about the SECRants inability to have discussions. You refused from the onset to participate in the discussion and tried to make it a Auburn/Bama thread.

It isn't me being personal, I just think you need to cool it with the shitting on the SEC Rant when your intentional derailing of threads followed by being coy has become one of the tiredest staples of this place.

Everybody and their uncle KNEW he was getting the rock. That separates him from the latter generation. Additionally, he was a 5 tool baseball player.
BO DID KNOW, BUT didn't know what was good for him. Should've stuck to baseball. 20 year career and lots of dough with little risk of injury!

Not so much? 36 - 16.. Bo didn't do a whole lot vs the wrecking crew. You can watch Bo get stuffed on the goal line stand at about 3:15.

Ole Coach Stallings put a bama style whoppin' on auburn that year.

Bo had over 200 yards of total offense and scored both of Auburn's touchdowns. You shut Auburn down. Not BO

I will take 202 all-purpose yards and 2 TDs anytime. Defense gave up 36 points. Y'all didn't stop Bo, and our defense didn't stop y'all.

To shut down Bo, we could have singled in on him, as he presented a matchup problem, like he did for everyone else, but it wasn't a bug deal because we were able to dominate the rest of your team with relative ease. And stats are misleading. What's more important, 18 yards on a run up the middle from your own 20? Or not being able to convert on 2 4th downs. Sure on those combined 3 plays Bo averaged 5 yards a carry, but when push came to shove he couldn't get it done. Simply put Bo was overrated. Barry Sanders was way better.

I'm not saying he wasn't a great player, but people confuse great athlete for great player, and try to lump them together. Barry Sanders will never be considered the greatest athlete of all time, or even in the conversation, but he was a better running back than Bo, and it wasn't even close.

Bo Jackson was a great player AND athlete.

It's closer than you're hinting at, but I agree, Barry Sanders was better than Bo Jackson. That being said, Barry Sanders was the best running back to ever see a college football field, IMO. It's hard to say anyone was better than him.

Didn't Jackson throw a football on a bet and hit the overhead scoreboard in the Superdome?

FIFY. Barry Sanders was probably the hardest RB to tackle because he was shifty as hell but he didn't have near as much top end speed and wasn't ever one to truck someone.
