also you know that the LSU fan base isn't made of just south la people and people from the new orleans area. So i dont see what us going to football games has to do with the storm. Also just bc we went to a football game doesnt mean we didn't help out with those that needed. You are creeping up the list of fricking stupid bammers.

The point of the post was to say that in '05 LA needed help. LSU represents LA, regardless of where the fans live. Alot of peoples perceptions in '05 were that of "if they need so much help how come they can still go to away games." Right or wrong this was the perception thus the reults were Katrina comments, especially after LSU beat an undefeated BAMA team in Tuscaloosa. Not an excuse for it just the reason behind it. Sure plenty of LSU fans traveled form other parts of the country, but plenty traveled from south LA as well.

If you don't think LSU helped at all you are an idiot. Maybe not an idiot, but your blind hatred for a fricking football team has you thinking this.

Never once said LSU did not help. I was explaining perceptions in'05 and why they were what they were. Where did I say LSU didnt help. Looks like your the one being blind.

The part about how LSU represents LA, as if LSU wasn't doing their part.

Once again perception.

What does LSU represent if its not the state of LA?

Every team has pathetic fans, every one has their share of losers and scum bag that respectable fans can't stand. LSU just happens to have a larger pool of these idiots in their fan base.

So wouldnt that qualify them as the least classy sec fans. Whether its the exception or the rule wouldnt most equal least in this case.

Depends, are we going by fact LSU has more retarded fans, or by what the fans do?

I know LSU has a reputation but I was at LSU/AU and saw Auburn fans after game throwing food at LSU fans who walked by their tailgate.

I have been at Bama and seen beer bottles flung at LSU fans.

I have been to Florida and watched fans get in physical altercations.

I have been to LSU and seen this type of behavior also.

Vandy is only school that does not do anything that I have seen.

Everyone has their experiences, but I've never understood the "LSU fans are the worst" line you hear. I've been to games in Baton Rouge many times, and always had fun tailgating and at the game.

My worst experience would be the 2003 Ole Miss game in Oxford. Those were unruly fans, but I've also been and had a blast (2001, 2005 and 2007). Individual incidents shouldn't characterize the whole experience, but they often do.

so we should have stayed home and put every cent in the state towards hurricane recovery?

its called moving on with life

If it's that bad then yes. Let's see buy new clothes and food or travel to Tuscaloosa for the game?

Once again the PERCEPTION in '05 was "how bad can it be they can still go to away football games". Right or wrong perception makes up public opinion.

I know Im going to catch a lot of shite for this, but without question the LEAST classy fans in the SEC has to be LSU's fans. Classless in regards to treatment towards opposing fans. I'll give a couple of examples.

Back in 2002 I went down to Baton Rouge to watch them play Mississippi State and brought a date (who knew VERY LITTLE about football) We both wore Mississippi State gear to the game. We got there about 9AM it was a JP 11:30 game.
Once we parked we started walking towards Tiger Stadium and some guys (already drunk at 9AM)and gets in my dates face and starts yelling Tiga Bait! TIGA BAIT! My date was scared and felt verbally and physically threatened and began to cry and told me she didnt want to go to the game. After talking to her, she decided to go to the game. LSU fans sure know how to welcome opposing fans to their first LSU game.

dude if you and your girl can't handle a few tigerbaits then watch the game on tv. this isn't the pac-10

we might be the least classy but you were wrong about the rule instead of the exception.

we can be the least classy in the sec and it not be a rule rather than exception.

One of the main problems with Ole Miss is the quality of opposing fan we usually have to deal with. We never sell out of tickets, so any
opposing fan that wants to come generally gets to.
Thus we have do deal with the absolute worst every fanbase has to offer. I can still remember the 2003 Bama game pretty vividly.
The Bama fans that sat around us (wearing fricking elephant heads and Brodie Croyle jerseys), were absolutely devastated that they were losing to "fricking Ole Miss". They carried on about how shitty we were and how they should never lose to us. My dad and The 6'4" black guy sitting next to us shut those guys up in a hurry.

Most SEC fanbases are made up of people who have 0 connection, other than the football team to the school. The majority of Ole Miss fans are Alumni and family of alumni. When mister Joe "Natty Lite" Corndoggump insults Ole Miss, they aren't insulting a football team like they think they are. They are insulting our home and our family. Alot of LSU fans know this, and thus insult Ole Miss to no end. LSU fans try to break up our team's walk through the grove to the stadium every year. Ole Miss fans are generally reserved. When we play LSU, we are the least classy fanbase in the SEC.

Hell I can go to Bama this season and then label them the least classy based on my experience. I can go to Ole Miss and label them the same way.

It all depends on personal perception, it also goes in if someone has their mind made up about a fan base then going to a game of course they are going to make themselves miserable. Every Tiger Bait, every taunt they are going to see it as 10x worse because they have it in their head this fan base is bad. They refuse to look at it from an objective perspective.
Take poster from Miss St, he complained about Tiger Bait but when I showed up in Starkville and was greeted with "frick You LSU" did I get mad and cry and say their fan base sucked?

All depends on people that you meet and the mindset of the person going to game.
