The lack of variance east to west of the other schools allows the one outlier to pull the center over east of all the others.

All the other schools run in a relatively straight line, north to south

They are apparently finding the center of the polygon enclosing all conference schools, which doesn't make a lot of sense. Averaging latitudes and longitudes, the center of the B1G12 is near Wagoner, OK.
