There IS a difference....but not much.

My hopes regarding the family is that this lawsuit ISN'T about the money and instead will be a suit that will help prevent future deaths. I have a glimmer of hope about that being that we were told back in January it would be a $10 million suit and now there is no dollar amount listed.

So I`m now I`m gonna have to watch "Make sure you don`t have hereditary abnormalities before you play the foosball" PSAs.

then I'm actually ok with this suit. I hate that my school is involved....but I'm ok with the suit overall.

I see your point, although the same could be accomplished via public speakings at schools, meeting with local press, etc...

I am a huge supporter of individuals and their own personal liability, though.

ETA: Not saying you are not.

I meant this in regards to attorney's.

I know. But this same firm also settled a similar SCT suit with Rice back in 2009. Not sure what the settlement was.

Not sure if this firm is just trying to make easy cash filling similar suits or if they're just trying to do the right thing.

Odds are it's the first one.....but I'll still hold out hope.

I completely agree.....but some people are just plain ignorant to what hereditary abnormalities are. Hell....some families might not even know about it.

Then you get into impoverisher families who can't afford for a doctor to test them.

I'd much rather not take the chance of having a family ignorant to something like SCT(evidently such as the Abrams Family).
