Sweet Home Alabama is a basketball team bringing together some of the best ballers from the state of Alabama. This will be their second ever TBT appearance.

Explain this to me..

So how is it Sweet Home Alabama, when some guys didn’t even play in the state?

Same with War Ready (Auburn Alumni). Some guys I’ve never heard of having ties, much less graduated are on the team.

I know, it's sort of silly, but it's actually made up of future prospects, former college players, and even former NBA players (75 last year). The teams are sometimes divided under a former college as alumni, or even just guys playing for a united charity.

About half the teams are alumni teams, which can mean serious teams trying to win, or a 36-year-old guard trying not to tear his ACL.

It's a little less NBA 2K and little more NBA Street, if that makes sense.

War Ready started in 2021 with Cinmeon Bowers, Bryce Brown, Kareem Canty, Josh Dollard, TJ Dunans, Malik Dunbar, T.J. Lang, J'Von McCormick, Desean Murray, Danjel Purifoy, and LaRon Smith. It's gone through some roster changes since, so it's probably just not as "alumni" as it once was.

AFAIK, Alabama's teams have always sucked in this, but in 2022, Blue Collar U, a team primarily made up of alumni from Nate Oats' Buffalo program, won the overall tournament and the $1m prize. It was actually coached by Alabama's current Director of Scouting & Analytics, Adam Bauman.
