The argument being made in favor of Bama is BS

Saban and Bama fans here are complaining that the committee is implying winning is all that matters, no matter how easy the schedule.
It’s not just about losing or how many losses you had—it’s about who you lost to and how. You lost to a 6-6 Vanderbilt team and got blown out by a 6-6 Oklahoma team. Those aren’t exactly the toughest opponents on your schedule, yet you’re asking everyone to pretend that never happened.

They are also arguing the eye test, which says wins and losses don't matter how good does a team look that should matter.

Strength of schedule does not matter anymore, idk how else you can spin it.
Which is terrible for the expanded SEC, because we are constantly going to have better SOSs than all these brokedick conferences that are given spots for simple # of wins.

What argument? The selection has been made.
There is only bitching after the fact.

You didn’t lose to the strength of your schedule.

What’s vandy and oklahomas records if they play SMU’s schedule?
This is absolutely awful for the SEC bc they will beat each other up every year. And the committee just confirmed who you play doesn’t matter. Only wins and losses. SMU beat a team called Houston Christian… that’s one of their 11 wins
I think Alabama, ole Miss and South Carolina should have gotten in over SMU, Indiana and Penn St
