I have a hard time accepting that a team with 5 national titles is ahead of a team with 10 national titles because they were "ranked #1 at some point" more times.

Maybe that means more if the national title difference is 1-2, but 5? As an example, Oklahoma (7) and Notre Dame (8) are close enough in national titles that I can understand weighting the others and them popping out on top.

The #1 program in CFB History has half as many national titles as #4, three less than #3 and 2 less than #2. Doesn't seem to make sense.

Bama - 10 championships

Is that legit?

10 AP

Add in 1 UPI/Coaches title & 4 Rose Bowl titles before the AP, making it 15... that's without the 1941 title.

it appears they have not updated the sections for each college because only showing 1 natty for Clemson.

i assume the poll info for 2016 is not included.

i had no idea UGA only had 1 natty. wow

Northwestern had back to back top ten finishes. Losing Duke one of those years and Wake Forest the other. Step forward if anybody you would survive either of those loses and end up top ten.

The "and they're smart too" group from Big Ten is one and only. Not impressed, or fooled by the bias. Speaking of, acorns lofty ranking while essentially playing no one year after year.

So, add 14 more #1 rankings to Bama's 74 for a total of 88. Moving up.

I still don't understand the love for Notre Dame. The last time they were any good television was black and white and college football was just white.

that's true, SEC bias in the polls probably has most SEC ranked 10-15 spots higher than they should be.

Are we sure this was updated? It still has Clemson with 1 national title in 1981.

Alabama pulled within a national championship win of overtaking Notre Dame at the No. 3 spot, while champion Clemson jumped Arkansas to become No. 21.

They have another one from 1942 but Ohio State got the AP that year.

Uh oh, looks like UF is #2 in the SEC despite not being worth a shite before 1990.
