I won't ever hate on Shula. I believe he did the best he could while here. He just wasn't ready for the job yet. And he took the job when we were at arguably the lowest point we'd been at since Ears Whitworth. He didn't do anything to shame the University and helped bring some stability back to it after the mess that ensued post-Stallings. I hope he continues to have success in the future.

I haven't met very many if any people who hold any sort of animosity towards Shula. Most of us wanted him fired, but I don't know anyone who "hates" him or even dislikes him.

Price and Fran? Yes. Shula? Not at all.

I wanted to give him another year.

But I didn't know Saban would be what followed.

The State game at home closed the door for me. That was rock bottom. We had to move on after that.

Mike Shula has grown as an assistant coach. Anyone who disagrees with that just hates on the man to hate on him.

I only hate on him for one reason and it is the best reason:

Tyrone Prothro

He never should have still been in the game when his career was ended. Hell, none of Bama's starters should have been.

He was there mainly to keep the ship afloat and make sure they didn't get in anymore trouble with the NCAA. His hands were pretty much tied with what he could as well.

People like you are awful. Obviously he meant misery/despair in the context of sports. Get over yourself.
