I was a grocery kid beginning at age 15. If we had a home football game (I was a running back in football), I'd get out of the game and go to the store and help stock until after midnight, sore as hell from the game. Or if an away game, go home and sleep and come bag groceries on Saturday morning when I could not fricking walk. (My actual running back hero was Marcus Allen - and I hate USC - because of his hard reckless CHAOTIC running style. So I ran like a little crazed fricking tazmanian devil and could barley walk for two days, or four - lucky I didn't get paralyzed at age 16)
then I did some actual Kroger floor cleaning in college, wax and buff etc starting at 4am, before those new fancy floor buffing machines were invented and downsized me to selling ties at JC Penney for three months before getting fired because my boss found out a former employee who had called him a fig was my cousin
