Not sure about that. That UT team was loaded.Three 1st rounders and 9 drafted overall.

Too bad they had Phil calling the shots.
Losing to LSU in the SECG was a travesty.

John Henderson and Albert Haynesworth as interior DL

Donte Stallworth, Kelly Washington, and Jason Witten at WR/TE

But hey, it worked out for LSU

That season was a very nice surprise. Josh Reed had a great season, and he closed it with an outstanding Sugar Bowl. I went to that game — Illinois was absolutely shell shocked. Hell, it even snowed that night!!

I’m from south Louisiana and have been an LSU fan all my life but that fall 2001 I was dating a girl that went to St Thomas More in Lafayette and Eraste Autin who was a fullback from STM that went to UF had just died from heat stroke so we watched a lot of Florida games that year

@ #18 LSU - UF 44-15

That was the first time I had ever been to Tiger Stadium. I say it all the time that 2001 Florida is one of the best teams I have ever watched in person. Rex Grossman lit LSU the hell up and people were flying around the field. That game against Tenner is also an all time great game that people forget about. 2001 Florida was Spurriers best team in my opinion.

Spurriers best team. I would've loved to seen a UF/Miami showdown

Michigan has a habit of getting boatraced by SEC teams

Galen Hall's 84 and 85 probation teams were loaded and were considered some of the best early Florida teams not to have won a national title.
