So they tore down the hotel? Has your FIL and wife been in that area a long time? Has he done some other development there?

They're from tylertown but she was in McComb by like 6 I think.

Her grandpa is Doug rushing (Doug rushing realty) so they've done a lot in that region with hunting properties and woodlands mainly. Little residential stuff mixed in.

But yeah the land on the left of 55 by Delaware is undeveloped. On both sides. My BIL bow hunts back there but the actual corner lots are cleared and leveled.

I grew up in Brookhaven and we had the only movie theater in all of the 7 counties that border us. My friends from mccomb either came to Brookhaven or drove to Hammond to watch a movie.

A lot of Rushing's from Tylertown but I know who your grandpa is.

McComb use to have a theater a long time ago. I've watched a lot of classic movies there.

Not really proud to say it but I've had my fair share of visits to the Ice House too.

I still is the only one as of now I believe. I take my kid there and to the jump n jive place occasionally.

My BIL's friend's grandpa (who knows a guy who knows a guy ) is an old golf pro at that course in brookhaven. I like the course but there's a lot of "mounds" and it's harder than fernwood and quail hollow.

Where is that? I've heard people talk about it before and just assumed it was near Jackson.

Off 55 Between Jackson and the ms/la line. Slightly closer to la than Jackson if I'm not mistaken.

Looks like whoever wrote (or posted) that article was very careful to leave out Louisiana.

I like Mississippi. Have always found their people kind and respectful, when not discussing sports.

Even in sports, I respect that they overachieve.

Right off I-55 about 45 minutes south of Jackson.
Pretty big OM alumni base so you probably met several people from there while at OM.

Love Mississippi. Waverly Waters, Shack up Inn, just great areas to chill out especially for musical types.

Plenty of LSU fans in Pike County for you though. Even though most didn't go there.
