They should just remove the interim tag. Firing the staff at this point without a HC identified puts Arkansas on the hook now for their buyouts now, creates an inability to hire anyone to backfill them, and causes complete turmoil for staff and team.
But, it does help create a pretty good excuse if Petrino were to retain them and go on to perform worse than the Pitboss had.
