Does anyone think that Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Berkeley and the like have to go on an ad campaign, funded by millions in taxpayer dollars, to claim status as their state's top public university?
It is about changing the narrative, I.e. Propaganda and putting lipstick on a pig. It reeks of trying way too hard. It is the aggy way and the reason why they are ridiculed by most Texans.
Kind of like aggy running from their Big 12 abusers and trying to change the narrative of athletics success, by claiming two extra football national titles at the very same time.
You can't make silk out of a sow's ear, no matter how hard aggy animal scientists try. A pile of shite is a pile of shite, and perfume won't help.

I always thought melting was more how the Ags did on these pages when Texas jumped them in recruiting rankings, and A&M failed to get a top 2 recruiting class like Jimbo promised.

It's amazing that aggy has no factual retort and resort to cowardly downvotes. They brag about having the biggest enrollment when it is hurting them in funding per student. I don't think the University of Florida cares much that the U of Central Fla has the state's largest enrollment.
Plus, it took aggy claiming the Galveston, McAllen, Fort Worth law, Temple medical and Qatar campuses as "College Station" to bring about this useless talking point. Sad!
Further, they were made a constitutional branch of The University of Texas before aggy evened opened their doors. But they still hang on tight to the "first public school in Texas" argument.

"Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas" ... "The University of Texas." The state's main university is pretty clear.
