I propose that non-playoff bowl games be played the following spring at the end of spring training. Opt. out players, or players out of eligibility can move on with their lives. Play the games over 2 weeks starting around early April. Coaches can get a good read on what they have for the fall season.

I think the days of either program just simply running the table with the exception of playing eachother is over. Those fan basis will have to adjust to most weekends being a challenge
