Nuh uh, a poster on this board would never make a premature reactionary thread

I’m not saying that it isn’t highly probable. Just playing Devil’s Advocate. We lost a very good starting safety this year because our coach suspended him before body cam footage revealed that he had done nothing wrong and now he’s transferring out. shite happens. If due process hadn’t taken place when John Pelphrey was here losing control, my fraternity would’ve been kicked off of campus instead of a bunch of shithead basketball players who sucked.
ETA. If Beard is in the wrong (which it sure sounds like). I’m surprised those woke arse bitches in Austin haven't found an extra dildo laying around to impale him with. Hope Beard’s family is ok.

I will step in on pioneers behalf, and on behalf of charity. I will wager $100 that the Texas Longhorns do not fire Beard in the next 14 days. If I win, you will donate $100 and post proof of it to the charity of my choice. I agree that the charity will be one that is not personally offensive. Or outside your belief structure. And I will agree to the same if I lose. How about it?
I agree to your terms in principle but the timing is wonky.
Not sure how long it takes to officially fire him but he is absolutely done at Texas.
14 days is a weird and somewhat arbitrary amount of time- His contract might take some time to sort out.
How about we make it a month? If it is announced either way (being kept on or fired) in that time the loser pays the winner’s charity $100?

The timing isn’t wonky, it’s actually extremely generous to you
the season could tank , players could leave, lots of things could compound on the actual arrest, allowing 14 days from yesterday was extremely generous
Despite you waiting until after an actual suspension was put in place and waiting until many more details were released over the incident, I will still honor my initial offer BUT as a penalty for your cowardly delay, the $100 paid by the loser in 13 days will now have to be to a Mississippi charity in honor of Mike Leach

It sounds like they're already getting their affairs in order to formally terminate or allow him to resign.
I can't believe there were posters that actually believed he was going to coach last night

There has been no indication yet one way or another.

Why does the timing of the firing matter if he never coaches another game for us? He is done. The actual firing may take some time- in this country we have something called the presumption of innocence and I would assume that the university would be willing to collect the facts before ending a contract for cause.
Is it your belief that A&M would have fired him immediately?
Because if this is about program culture, your program/ school has a far longer and storied history of looking the other way/ general scumbaggery.

But indefinite suspension, without pay no less, is pretty telling what's inevitably going to happen.
This was pretty shocking to everybody, as up to now, there was no evidence that he was capable of doing something like this, nor was there ever concrete proof that his fiance and him had issues this large. There's only so much you can do that's considered an appropriate reaction in a day, especially when the team has a game later that night. People seem to forget that the AD also had to think of the rest of the team and program's interest as well.
More will come out, and it will play out in court. If 98% of what she said was a lie, but even 2% is true, it'd still be too much to overcome in my opinion.
I'm all for Texas doing what they can to support the Beard family and assist them in finding the help they need. But it won't be while he's also the head coach of a varsity athletics team while being paid a 7-figure salary.

Again, the 14 days was extremely generous of me
So you’re running away from your bold talk?

The guy coached his last game at Texas last Saturday. There's nothing more to it than that.
I'd just let this one rest, man...

If you’re confident join in on the bet
otherwise just admit that you don’t have $100 to give to a Mississippi charity
You cucks do nothing but run your mouths then make up excuses

Nobody knows exactly what happened. He claims to have audio recording showing she was the aggressor. Any guy who has dated a crazy woman would take this type of precaution, and I don't blame him for not turning it over to the cops immediately.
This sounds like a situation where she blew up, did some crazy shite, and maybe even assaulted him--first.
I'm actually rooting for him.

I have no idea when the formal firing will take place. I know he'll eventually be fired, or "resign", and he's never going to coach the Longhorns again, as evidenced by where this is heading with an indefinite suspension without pay. That for me is good enough, and more than fair to Chris and the athletic department, for now as we wait for more to come out.
Have a good day

Look, I hate Texass with a passion, but I still don't get why you're dying on this hill.
If Juan Howard can punch another coach in an actual game & stay employed, maybe we let the legal system determine what Beard did while not coaching?

What would the reaction from sip be if an A&M coach was arrested for this?
