What were the preseason rankings for both teams?

Are these teams going to surpass or fall short of expectations.

Also, the A&M QB didn’t say “We’re baaaack” after our bowl win....

I thought 7-5 or 8-4 would be great for A&M given their schedule, so they're doing fine. Texas just got decimated by injuries.

That wouldn't make sense bc A&M hasn't been consistently good since the early 1990s when they were dominating a pathetic SWC. Remember losing to then-USL?

Huh?

First of all: It doesn’t make any sense for any QB to say it.

Second: It made no sense for the announcer to say it when he did. The whole thing isn’t based on consistent success.

Third: You think Texas has been consistently good since the early 90s?

A&M has improved our Athletic Department, and is winning recruiting battles at the expense of Texas. The SEC move has played a large part
In that.

It was dumb to say, but kind of made sense: Texas had a great stretch from 1998-09 that most people remember. They were a rollercoaster before that. The only thing comparable for A&M was much further back and probably not very memorable to people outside of Texas given the sorry state of the SWC

That’s fine.

“Texas is back” is a microcosm if their entire AD. It’s all about perception and hype than it is about substance. The Longhorn Network has been a disaster, and has furthered the sense of entitlement that keeps feeding the “soft” mentality. Their recruits are overrated a lot of the time, so they are shell shocked when their talent cannot dominate the Big 12 murderers row of Baylor, Kansas State and Iowa State.

Yeah what even is on the Longhorn Network besides Bevo grazing and replays of the 2004-05 Rose Bowls? Hope it was worth breaking up a good conference lmao

I’d guess the 2019 Sugar Bowl is on repeat
