Why would you think anyone other than aggie would care?

It’s a carbon copy of any hire where the failed head coach takes a job for a lesser role in which he was good at previously.

Was he a good offensive line coach? I can't remember, its been like a decade since he coached an offensive line and those stints were always super short.

Heard he was the offensive coordinator under Meyer during Tim Tebow days.
Two years. He was the "offensive coordinator" the year after Mullen left, and despite whatever numbers you bring up, it's widely known amongst Gator Nation that whatever say he had in the offense made it visibly worse. We view him as the major reason we didn't repeat in '09, and 2010 just drove the point home.

He seemed to have done well in Florida, hence, his promotion to head coach. Btw, you have two coaches on your staff that failed as head coaches, Brian Polian and Frank Wilson.

He was a dog shite OC at UF back in the day but a good recruiter and OL coach.

Haha, and there was a poster previously dogging the hire because it was similar to hiring Mullen. You really can’t make this stuff up. Regardless, if he wasn’t as good and did not meet fan expectations, he produced very well while he was there. And again, he will not be the offensive coordinator, just the oline coach. More than qualified.

2010 UF had one of the most embarrassing offenses I've ever seen trotting out there. Also, Brantley was a joke of a QB too

And here come the deflections

I don't know what the context of that was, but it literally isn't true at all. Addazio is a good recruiter but was an absolutely atrocious OC. Mullen as an offensive coordinator would be the home run hire of home run hires, but I think Jimbo has too much pride and too big of an ego to ever admit his archaic offense doesn't work in modern college football.

You began deflecting by comparing him to another Alabama coach who has nothing to do with our hire. I pointed out that you have failed head coaches on your staff as well in response to your comparison.

quote:. Well he won’t be our OC, but he will be our oline coach which he is more than qualified and a recruiter. But to say that he was an atrocious OC is inaccurate if you look at his numbers while there. It would be difficult for someone atrocious to be promoted to a head coaching position. That sounds rather far fetched.

quote:
In Addazio’s first season as an offensive coordinator, Florida finished 13-1 with an SEC Eastern Division title and a Sugar Bowl Championship. The Gators’ only blemish was an SEC Championship Game loss to eventual-national-champion Alabama. That season, Florida ranked sixth in scoring offense (457.9) and 10th nationally in scoring offense (35.9) with a unit led by Tim Tebow.

I watched every snap when he was an offensive coordinator at Florida, he was atrocious. "Fire Addazio" was a thing in 2010, and would have almost certainly happened if Urban Meyer was actually committed and stuck around. He only got hired at Temple because he had the title of "offeninsive coordinator" at the University of Florida. Take it from someone who watched the games, you don't know what you're talking about.

I read the reports where he called a custodian a "boy" and asked him "do you know who i am?".
Can't say i'm all the way aboard on this one.
Hopefully he doesn't frick anything up.
