They are saying whenever LSU plays the weak team from the East (like last year when they played Kentucky), they played West Virginia and Oregon OOC

next year when LSU gets Georgia, we have a weaker OOC

Bama has had easy schedules with East opponents the last 2 years, and again next year. Your schedule next year is a lot like one of Bama's schedule

I hope LSU starts taking this route. With how hard the SEC is there is no need to play tough OOC schedules, it does no good

I don't blame Bama or A&M for their schedules, its smart and they got lucky with their east opponents

The cupcakes are from Texas and Texas area. And are the better of the available ones. What if they'd gotten Texas State, TexSanAn, or Stephen Austin U.

holy shite do LSU fans do anything besides bitch about refs and other team's schedules?

Watch your mouth!

We also complain about our coaches, players, and what our band is (or is not) allowed to play.

This is such a stupid thing to say. SEC fans love telling other conferences "We play tougher schedules than you do, so we should garner more respect in the polls." Then, they turn around and say, "Hey, no fair! Your SEC schedule is easier." Stop complaining, and win your freaking schedule. I'm an LSU fan, and I hate hearing our fanbase bitch and complain about Alabama's schedule. We are LSU. We play the schedule whether it has Sam Houston State or Ohio State. It's football. Man up.

Rutgers isn't embarrassing at all. They're ranked 22 and 9-1 on the season. Might go to a BCS bowl if they can hold onto the lead in the Big East. Most BCS AQ teams are respectable

Rutgers sucks dude. The Big East is no better than the Sun Belt or C-USA. They just happen to have locked themselves into the BCS. FFS, Rutgers lost at home to Kent State (a team Kentucky blew out). Just because they ran the table in the Big East doesn't make them good.

Anyway, as has been noted, SMU is also a Big East school but I'm not arguing they are a good opponent.

How will your OOC schedule cost them?

have you seen an LSU fan whine about only the OOC? bc they seem to be just whining in general

Bama bitched about their schedule when it was tough in 2010

SC bitched about their schedule last year when it favored Georgia

its not an LSU thing, LSU has just had the short end of the stick lately

Does this mean UF vs. Texas A&M for the SECCG next year?

You are missing the point moron. Yes, we do. But we also have Florida as a permanent and generally play one very good OOC game. I am not saying all of our games are hard.

You know, we had this same problem, yet we were able to pick up the slack and schedule a home and home with another BCS conference school...

That game was locked in back in 2009. In 2014, we have Oregon and possibly USCw.

Sigh. This is the typical response. Of course we will line up and play whoever we have to play...but that doesn't mean its not unlucky what has happened.

LSU fans (not players) have a right to feel frustrated by getting the short end of the stick when it comes to east opponent scheduling

Why didn't Bama just "man up and play" in 2010 when their schedule was harder than others? No, they bitched and got a new rule changed for it. Are you saying they are babies?

Next year we play Georgia and Florida, our path to the SECCG is tougher than both A&M and Alabama

hopefully we will get lucky starting in 2014

Rutgers parlayed their win over us into a Big 10 invite further proving we are everyone's Super Bowl.

you guys dont get it. We had Arkansas scheduled OOC

these things are planned a long time in advance, and changing conferences messed everything up. you can mock the schedule but its not like we did that on purpose

I do, or you end up with the same kind of problems we saw this year. Playing Oregon and WVU last year were great for the development of the team.

No, you didn't. Alabama also didn't do it on purpose. It is all luck of the draw with the East

Georgia was supposed to rotate onto Bama's schedule this year and next year...somehow it go switched to Mizzou and Kentucky with these "bridge" schedules

I don't know what was used, but it happened. Bama didn't ask for an easier schedule. Its just lucky

ETA: but the good thing is if LSU can get through Georgia and Florida there will be no doubt how good the team is. That is the pro of not playing the weaker East teams

ETA2: I don't agree with OP, just explaining why LSU fans feel the way they do.

all schtick aside, I 100% agree with you. I'm disappointed in our schedule but it's hard to get decent opponents on short notice. I also think we loaded home games for next season because the following two are going to be during Kyle renovations.

We do have Oregon and USC upcoming and hopefully our new AD will work on upgrading the schedule otherwise. I think the transition both at AD and Head Coach has made scheduling difficult. Don't think Byrne wanted to lock anything in during his last few months that Hyman would have to live up to.

Playing Oregon early last year was a stroke of genius for LSU. I have never seen a better conditioned, prepared LSU team. This year we saw the exact opposite and it was what we feared.
