He says now that he was in an internet relationship with her, but there are countless interviews where he told people that he met her multiple times and her family. According to him he met her at Stanford in person.
None of his statements are consistent with what he's said before. I seriously doubt he was a "victim."

At the VERY least, Te'o is shady as frick for not coming clean about not actually having met/really known her when it was obvious that the story was helping buoy his heisman campaign.

Teo is just aw shucks level of gullible, and some pretty cruel people took advantage of that. The embarrassment from this will follow him a long time. To the people that f'ed with him this bad - I pity when the ND crowd finds out who you are and comes after you.

Well yeah, but I think it's obvious he didn't come clean because he knew what was happening all along. It was part of his plan. He's a liar and, quite frankly, a little sociopathic.
But just like an alcoholic in denial, Teo and ND will point fingers until the day they die. They were the victims, it was a scam, blah blah blah
