Hell, maybe we should rehire him if he's that awesome! If he can win 26 games in four years, while only being on probation during one of those years - and go 1-12 against his rivals, ironically enough, during the only losing season they suffered during Shula's tenure at 'Bama - then imagine what he could do now!

FIRE SABAN! RE-HIRE SHULA!

He's a nice guy, don't get me wrong. But his sheer incompetence and stupidity cost Alabama more than it helped them.

EDIT (sorry for the mix-up Vol Fans): Just as some of you guys are too stupid to realize how beneficial Les Miles has been for your program since his arrival?

With the way most of you guys are, Shula wouldn't have lasted half of a season at LSU.

Thanks for the ONE win over the worst tennessee team of the decade. Oh, but don't worry about the other 11 losses to Auburn, Tennessee and LSU.

He's not a Vol fan.

Also, at least Shula left you some players.

shite. I should go back and edit how awesome Les Miles is compared to Shula. Bet he would LOVE that one.

I hate bashing Shula all the time because I felt sorry for the guy, and I bashed him enough during his entire tenure at the Capstone, but the players he left us with were the players who were destined to commit to and play for 'Bama anyway. Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU were snatching up all most of the highly touted recruits anyway, at the time, so that subject is a really iffy one.

Besides, Dooley >>>>>>> Shula.

I like his video. I've read he's going to be a slot WR, and KR. Most recent measurables I've read is is he is 5'7 160lbs. I've seen some pretty good 40 times thrown out there from recent camps too.

He looks fast in the video.

After all the four and five star busts we've gone through. I'm pretty excited about taking a local athlete, who works his arse off everyday.

I see the Bamers are bringing Stallings back for an award during the half of the Florida game this weekend. UT should pick up on this, they should bring Fulmer back and put him one one one against this guy. Set up an All You Can Eat Buffet at midfield. You gotta watch out for the 5-7, 150 pounders in these sort of things.

What is crazy is every team they play KNOWS he is the one getting the ball the majority of the time.

I graduated from Jeff County and when they played Bearden my buddy from high school told me they prepared for him almost all offseason. I think he had 5 TD's that game.

You think Dooley's a joke???

I actually have some faith that, if given time, he will bring you back.

Eh... I doubt it. I don't think he's a joke, and I like that he holds players accountable for their performance unlike Phil Failmer, but I just think he's in way over his head. I just don't see anything that makes me believe he'll one day be up there with Meyer and Saban.

I do concede that the 'AA stuff wasn't acceptable, but it wouldn't have surprised me if he had wiggled his way out of that.

No doubt. I have no doubt they were cheating, and I have no doubt they're also good at covering their tracks.

People keep saying this. I'll believe it when I see it.

They've been saying this at TAMU for years now.

I know one thing, I'm not ready to pass judgment on Dooley's ability to bring UT back to prominence.

He's four games into his first season with less than 65 healthy scholarship players. The majority of which are Freshman and Sophomores. The man needs a little time.

The difference between UT and TAMU is that we won our division as little 3 years ago.

I'd agree with that. I understand the comments that he may be 'our Shula' even if I don't think he's as bad of a coach.

No doubt about that. The team sucks right now, period. The job isn't impossible like many seem to think, and the claims made by some Vols fans that it would take any coach 3 years to get to an 8 win program is even more ridiculous. However, here and now, we're awful.

Some guy on one of the MSU sites was begging for us to offer this kid. We never offered. He looks good on film but who is he playing against, all white pee wee teams.

It's 5A football in Tennesseee. It's not the best competition in the south east by any means, but as far as Tennessee highschool football goes it's the top level or really close to it.

I've heard State just started recruiting him, and part of the reason we offered so early was because we wanted to get it in before State did.

He was likely to take the first BCS level offer on the table. Stanford offered early and then withdrew when he didn't commit earlier in the process.

If we don't win at least 8 games in 2012 I'm going to be dissapointed. There's to much young talent on the team to be that bad two years from now.

They play Alcoa tonight, who's a solid team. Their coach said Devrin Young is the best offensive player that will have ever set foot on Alcoa's field. They've had multiple four and five stars come out of there. It's where randall cobb played too.

A media person asked "So you think Devrin is better than Cobb" He replied something along the lines of "I just said he'll be the most explosive player to set foot on this field."

His highlight tape is legit.

The guy on the State site said that Kentucky offered him last week and Tennessee today. Best of luck to the kid. We have bigger fish we are after (Tobias Singleton)
