I think at least 1 of those streaks end this fall and possibly two.

Look out for Chris Weathered this fall.

He is going to be a monster after getting his feet wet last year.

We have tons of talent to help JRM out at LB just have to settle on a rotation.

DL is going to be dirty but I do agree that making sure we have 6 very good bodies at DT will be a fall priority. I think we do though.

Danny O'Brien - RSJr.
Owen Williams - SR
Kendall Vickers - RS SO
Trevarris Saulsberry - SR
Khalil Mckenzie - FR
Shy Tuttle - FR
Quay Picou - Fr

His first game in front of live action went much better than Peterman's did that day.

UT plays 3 Big6 teams in '14, 2 on the road, UGA at home. I guess UGA is your best shot, @ Bama your worst.

I could see UT beating UF and UGA, but I don't think it's likely, I don't even think UT beating one of those 3 is likely. So you're making a bold prediction based solely on emotion. I wouldn't put any money on it if I were you - especially not for 2 out of 3.

Bama was 7-6 in 2007 and Bama fans had pretty high expectations for 2008 and beyond. We shall see.

In fairness, our expectations are right at 8-9 wins. It's the media that's pumped. Hell, CBJ has done everything in his power to tamp down expectations because we truly are young and OL is still a question mark (I think it's improved enough to be servicable but we won't know that til later). That said, I expect our DL and even our secondary to be flat nasty. Only real question on D is MLB.

9 wins would be every bounce of the ball and questionable call going our way...I've been thinking that 8 is doable....now, 2016 is a different matter entirely...but that is putting the cart before the horse.

This is a hilarious comment. Unfortunately, you dated yourself. Most of the dudes on this site are not old enough to remember the movie Deliverance.

Mizzou's DL will be better than Tennessee's this season.

I believe you are incorrect. We return tons of talent including a DE tandem that was narrowly behind Ray and Golden. We also have more and more talent FINALLY. Jordan Williams beasted for us last year but he was undersized, had never played DT before last season but gained enough weight to do so, we have tons of returning starters and have instant players with Kahlil McKenzie and Shy Tuttle who will rotate with the DTs immediately. And they will be good, real good, despite being true froshies. McKenzie is out of this world. And we will finally have bodies to rotate on the line (DT and DE are stacked with capable/good backups, especially DT but Chris Weathered (DE) is an amazing pass rusher).

Finally, our DL coach Steve Stripling is severely underrated. Not only did our D move up about zillion ranks from the year before but the New York Jets took the time to call the coaching staff to let them know Jordan Williams (again a guy who'd never played DL til last year) was the best coached player in mini-camp.

Our big question and weak point is at MLB.

My personal goal for us is 8 *but* I don't think 9 depends on breaks. I DO think it depends on 1. the OL 2. catching some breaks with refs who've been busting our balls lately (see the 4 extra yards spot ) 3. HEALTH at key spots (we are still too thin at several key spots to expect more than 8-9 and that will be an accomplishment with our issues despite our talent.

Yes, we have the talent to very well but that talent is once again very young and dependent upon health!

If Bama fans could get through their coaching issues in the late 90's and early 00's by fantasizing about their long dead coach, I can repeat my mantra of "wait till next year" with similar resolve.

What's amusing me is that no one around here or in real life has really said "wait til next year" for right at 5-6 years. This year is the first year we've had optimism and we have extreme (and justified) optimism for 2016.

WE did hope to finally beat UF before we were ready due mainly to having Justin Hunter and Da'Rick and UF having a poor year. We hoped (although many of us have been of the see when believe it mode for ages - well prior to UF's streak) that we might knock off UF at home and instead lost by a point. It sucks but is what it is.

When it comes to seasons in general your FOS. Sorry.

Your bs, or if you prefer a euphemism: your convenient revisionism is showing.

Well, that's two posters responding to a question that had nothing to do with where UT football has been lately. Including the poster that promted the question to begin with.
