Heupel is about as average as you can get.

Average is much better than what Tennessee has gotten from that position lately.

A 6-4 2020 UCF team is probably a 9-4 team any other year.

UCF didn’t beat anyone with a winning record in 2020. That’s not a good formula for going 9-4.

Well, there’s as much to learn about how a coach maintains success as there is to learn from their first year of success.

Agreed

12-1, 10-3, and 9-4 is still a pretty good resume.

Going from 1 to 3 and then to 4 losses is an interesting way to define maintaining success.

It's completely true to say that Frost never had a chance to show if he could maintain success. Problem is Heupel did have a chance and showed he couldn't.

If Tennessee does one thing well, it's pay large buyouts. They'll be fine.

Nebraska was a horribly coached football team today. Period.

Running backwards and trying to field a punt on the one yard line? What in the ever loving frick?

Also, the expectations are completely different for the two hires. Frost was the homerun, the can't miss coach that took a G5 to a "natty". Heupel is a desperation hire coming into a dumpster fire. Heupel will get 4-5 years at least, whereas they expected Frost to takeover the B10 West from pretty much day one. Yeah you've got the regular dumbasses from VN with expectations but you put a orange power T golf shirt on a steaming pile of shite and let it fester for a summer, some dumbass over there will fool himself into thinking it'll beat Florida. But to the people that matter, and to those who can actually pay attention, we all know that Heupel is only here to stop the bleeding against the bottom half of the East. Anything more is gravy.

I doubt he would come to UT again so stop dreaming. When your program become a National joke after your coaching searches crashed and burned. (How many guys was that? 10? 12? Before you finally got Jeremy to take the job) I don’t see him or any decent coach wanting to take on UT. Why would UT want Kiffin again anyway after he jilted you for USC?

Nebraska needs to return to their roots and hire a service academy coach.
