Yeah. Looks like both the tibia and the fibula broke and the top of the tibia sliced through parts of the lower knee and upper calf. That's about as bad a leg injury as you can have.

After taking a second look, it doesn't look like a compound fracture. I initially thought it was a gash on the side of his leg, but it looks more like a skin fold where the knee collapsed. I am guessing that he tore several ligaments in his knee and his meniscus.
