2001 Florida. Lost two games due to monsoon, sept 11 attacks, and TPOS darnell dockett being a TPOS by stomping on knees, leaving Florida with no running game in following week's matchup vs tennessee.

Come on, man. There was a Florida fan on here who hates LSU that even said that game was ridiculous. You know they hit early. If you call that "stingy" instead of straight up PASS INTERFERENCE, you're being dishonest. There were multiple issues that game. Wasn't there also a chop block against Dorsey or something that was pure intention?

If LSU would have gotten to play UF in the SECCG, I think we would have seen LSU smacking around OSU instead of UF. But good job Gators
The Tigers were firing on all cylinders for the later half of season. It carried over into 2007 as LSU was pre-season #2 I believe.

Understood, Aman. That's not the point. The point is, when you are debating between 2 teams to send to the NC, you go with the team who had:
1. Conference Championship
2. Better SoS
3. More ranked wins
4. More wins over winning records
over
1. Better Loss
Okie beat better teams. There is no question. Bama had wins over 3 teams, THREE, with winning records. It is not their fault PSU sucked arse or much of the rest of the SEC did as well. Again though, that's not the point.
You're supposed to take the team that hits all the factors that have been used in the BcS. The ONLY factor Bama hit was a "better loss" or the "eyeball test".
Could you imagine the uproar if Bama had all those factors and Okie had a "better loss" and was chosen? Holy shite.

And you still refuse to admit what was clear. You use DWI instead of just saying "yeah, there was bad calls against LSU".
Besides, I was responding to you. I didn't bring it up even though I will always think LSU should have been playing UF in the SECCG.

Seems like people think the 06 Gators were better than the 08 Gators.
Which leads me to the question. Do you even watch football? 06 was very good on defense. But 08 had the best offense the SEC had seen since, well, the 96 Gators. A top 5 defense, a strong coaching staff with three future head coaches as assistants or cords, a top 5 offense, a top five run game, a heisman winning QB, and without looking surely amoung the top in draft picks. I mean Pouncey's, Tebow, Harvin, Haden, Dunlap, Cunningham, Spikes, Hernandez, Cooper, Gilbert, Black, Hurt, Murphy, Ingram.
I mean the whole offensive line is starting in the NFL now. No way you can actually believe 06 was a better UF team. Nor a team like 2011 LSU with NO offense was better. I know we want to appease the LSU fans, but that team got shut out. They played a great schedule but were not a top 3 great SEC team in the most dominate era of the conference. Sorry, but that's just absurd. Great teams don't get blanked. Great defense for LSU, but no offense at all.

I, as in me. This LSU Tigers fan thinks LSU would have beaten Florida in the SECCG if given the opportunity. I am not taking away from UF. I just watched how that LSU squad played the second half of the season. They were unstoppable.

That's crap. Every game got moved because of 9/11, as they all should have. When something that catastrophic happens to this country, everything else takes a backseat. That was a good Tennessee team that played out of their skulls that night, especially Travis Stephens. I stated my opinion on 2001 Florida on a previous post (short version: they were every bit as good as 2006 and 2008).

LSU had plenty of opportunities to score in the AU game and failed. End of story. The only call was the PI call called back because it was "tipped" before the "interference" took place. Regardless, AU won the game. LSU finished 3rd in the west. We also beat UF, which LSU failed to do as well.
