However, no stadium touches the box. I agree bleachers aren't as nice but no one comes close to the box in the areas they poured their money into. You walk up to the box and you are like wow.

So, what you are really saying is that it only took you 24 years to truly surpass Dudy Noble Field?

That's the part of the "stadium argument" that I don't really understand. You've got Carolina Stadium, Swayze, Box, Baum, Blue Bell -- all practically brand new -- still being compared to a stadium(current structure) that is nearing 30 years old? All the above are "nicer" and it's ridiculous to even argue.

It's also well-known that State is looking at a major overhaul(potential full rebuild) of DNF projected to begin around the time the football stadium opens in 2014...and everyone knows that when it comes to baseball, we are not even remotely limited financially like we are in other sports.

As far as the original question -- I love them both. Very different, but still great experiences. Look for MSU to incorporate a few of Swayze's outfield concepts into the renovation as well -- not that we would ever mess with the lounges -- but by limiting their height in right field and bringing the hill closer to the field and building a general admission(free) student section out there. That's the biggest lack of current Dudy Noble -- you have to basically know someone to enjoy the lounges and it spreads out the students too much.

It got bigger in 2006...not by much. Then when we renovated the stadium, they added it down to fowl pole. Then the next year they added more levels above the bullpen.

What is better right field beer showers at swayze or left field lounge at the dude?

I like MSU's better because I think the private owned trailers tradition is cool and it covers the entire outfield. Both are better than any in the SEC though.

Tentative start date is right around the completion of the football renovation in mid 2014. No "solid" plans in place yet over a couple of different logistical issues...not the least of which is getting out from under the "lifetime seats" in the current stadium -- and we really(at this point) don't know how big to build it -- given that it's been a decade since actual attendance was at the level we consistently expect from MSU baseball going forward(and we've got 5k+ more students now)
