Some really deep and compelling analysis, I think everyone in the thread is going to need some time to really process the nuance of what you just conveyed.

Man, you're welcome. I forget that the Rant is where people go for nuance and compelling FB discussion.
Dork.

Realistically you’re probably right that most people here aren’t able to get past trolling.
OU winning at TN and Bama to make the playoffs while losing in nearly every category is one of the wildest stories of the last two years in the SEC and I was hoping to hear from OU fans how they think Venables is actually doing it and whether it’s sustainable.
I get pissy because it would be great to be able to actually talk ball with other schools without it looking like monkeys throwing poop at each other at the zoo but it just isn’t in the cards here.

Bro I hear you. Just busting your chops. Don't think for a second that I don't think what we did the last 2 games is sustainable. Offense has got to play a lot better if we want to beat Mizzou even.
Brent knows it isn't sustainable.
However, if we get up 7-10 and the defense is controlling things, I think we will continue to play close to the vest. Brent has always been that way.

I was really expecting the new guy from Washington State at OC (Arbuckle?) to open up the offense which is why I was a little shocked when it looked virtually the same from last year with a much better QB.
Basically my confusion there is that if it’s not the OC and it’s not the QB is Venables (who I think is right there with Kirby as the best defensive mind in CFB) neutering the offense or is it just an OL problem?
Because with a top 25 offense OU would be a true NC contender this year as far as I’m concerned.

Mateer hasn't been the same from his surgery. He's looking healthier, but he just won't pull the trigger for whatever reason. He's in his head. We lack true game changin offensive talent. It's getting there but Brent hiring Seth last year really effed the whole thing up. Oline and RB's look solid and hope they will continue to improve. But OU needs to spend $$$ on wideouts and TEs this offseason.
Mateer has an opportunity to shut everyone up these next 2 weekends. I hope he does.

Stats mean shite compared to the scoreboard.
Vegas would be broke if this were true
OU is extremely lucky they won that game

Or Bama is extremely lucky we played them with one hand tied behind our back. Probably depends on your perspective.

Bama imploded with turnovers or its a 2 score win.
All the data shows that.
So true. Don't forget the missed FG. That was one of the luckiest wins ever.
