You can't send private messages on here. Initials are PM, graduated from South in 04.

and i mean its not just richt. the fans and media would hound richt for not doing it. especially the old alumni who expect UGA to retain a clean image and sometimes think thats more important than winning. aka the anti-alabama/auburn

I just wish the SEC would institute a uniform, conference wide discipline policy to take all this crap off the table. Players at Florida could fail what, up to like 3 or 4 drug tests before missing any time?

Here they'd be suspended for a game or 2 on missed test number 1, likely booted from the team after the 2nd one. Florida doesn't win the NC in 06 if they had our drug policy.

absolutely. UGA is operating on a damn double standard. add the fact our PD can be bitches to the football team, harder admissions standards than most the SEC, and typically more temptations or opportunities to get in trouble (only disadvantage of the greatness that is dt athens) really can frick with UGA.

i mean its not a conspiracy, we make it work, but i agree there needs to be a uniform policy

I don't see how a uniform policy would work, because some crimes in some towns get overlooked. The Columbia PD is a lot like the ones in Athens to where they seem to target football players. I bet the same things would go unnoticed in a smaller town like Auburn or Starkville.

And that's another big part of the problem. But at the very least, if a smaller town player DID get arrested or failed a drug test, it couldn't just be swept under the rug. These players need to start being held accountable for their mistakes at ever school, not just at 2 or 3 schools while the other 9 or 10 get to run wild without fear of punishment.

I agree. If one of our players even sneezes the wrong way in Columbia, the Cops will be all over it, and it will be plastered on WLTX, WISTV, and in the State paper. Hell, a few years ago, one of our OL got the crap beaten out of him by three officers, and the officers were made to look like the victims initially.

We had a starting OL about 4 or 5 years ago get suspended for a game for passing out drunk while on the toilet in the Amici's bathroom.

Guarantee you he wouldn't have missed time at 3/4 of SEC schools. Personally, I think it was awesome and gave him a silent round of applause when I read that, but that's beside the point.

If he was of age, I doubt he would have gotten any punishment here. Underage, probably a game or two suspension, but that's it.
