They've ruined football. When they have a channel during the cfp with game shrunk down you can see stats, it's gone too far.
This is the quality of stat whores. You know who you are. You owe the sport of football an apology
quote:
coach big gay's squad is 12-3 when eating at bojangles before the game
quote:
literally who is 3 for 4 on 4th down on the season when 2 big foots are mid coitus outside the stadium
quote:
This half back youve never heard of averaged 12.36 yards per carry in little league football, but coach fatty boombaladdy passed him over. he's been making him pay for that one all night, he has rushed for 5 yards and gotten 1 td
quote:
This guy is on fire, he has a catch ratio of .7233649 when watching moth man youtube videos at halftime

Stats are just random compiled numbers

I know. Correlation does not equal causation. And yet some act like it does, and that it's the only thing that matters
quote:
he shed a quarter of a pound in the taco bell bathroom before coming to the stadium, and it's really shown in just how explosive he's been all day

Memphis radio used to have a guy named "stats Norsworthy" on. He was the absolute worst. He was always interjecting crap like " this team is 0-4 against the spread when playing on artificial turf in October if the temp is above 62° and the starting rb is left handed.".
Wtf
Wtf

How is this possibly receiving downvotes? I didn’t realize inconsequential, farcical minutia is this popular.

Important stat. Arkansas didn't lose a single game last season when up by double digits going into the final 5 minutes.

I love crunching numbers, but I've never understood how ATS stats could be taken as legitimate when they say things like, "Team X is 12-4 ATS in Shreveport since 1984."
How can any stats about a team's past performance dating back decades be predictive, when none of the current players, coaches, opposing teams, or even offensive and defensive styles are relevant?
