Stans is responsible for half of your conference tourney championships, all but two of the SEC-W "championships" that Ms. States covets, while being responsible for over half of your NCAA tourney appearances...

Mark Fox and Anthony Grant disagree with this

Those two are the bi-products of trying to hire on the cheap and "hope it works out" and the reality that established successful head coaches are highly unlikely to leave a school where they have been successful unless the school offering is a job they highly covet.

FWIW I think you finally got it right with Anderson.

but only one of our 6 SEC titles, and has proven he cant make the program more than mediocre
We also should have 3 more NCAA's, but we turned then down because our government leaders in the 60's didnt want us playing "darkies"

He has half of the schools SEC titles since integration.

And was our top assistant and man responsible for recruiting most of the players on our Final 4 team in 1996.

Which as good as that team was then, MS. State was still 3-4th best overall in the conference with the teams Arkansas, Kentucky and Florida had at the time.
I don't get where one can claim Stans is underachieving as there were, basically, no achievements before him...

Stands gets credit for recruiting Williams players
Stands gets credit for recruiting his own players
Robert Kirby always seems to get left out for some reason. Yet, our team imploded without him last season. Remember this come November.
Stands can recruit- but his coaching and discipline are shite. That's just a fact and one knowledgeable people have figured out.

Last year was a disaster, but how many players have we had arrested, flunk out or get in trouble before the Sidney fight? Yes, we have had our fair share transfer but so has most other D1 programs.
Stans may not be great at Xs and Os but he has run a clean program and graduated players. Kodi and Riley both graduated this spring. Heck even Tang Hamilton got his degree and he was as dumb as a box of rocks.

why is this ok? and you should have said, "stans is absolutely fricking terribly awful at x's and o's." Coach isn't talking about discipline off the court. He's talking about discipline on the court. Our program has zero discipline on the court.

You guys should hire Pel, we really screwed him over by not giving him more time, how much time did he need? He would have said when he was done. We did him wrong, ask him.
Just look at his recruiting:
Recruits sign in the last 4 years no longer on the team:
Levan Patsasia
Nate Rakestraw
Marcus Britt *
Andre Clark
Rotnei Clarke
Courtney Fortson
Jason Henry
Montrell McDonald
Brandon Moore
Glenn Bryant
Jeff Petersen**
*Did not graduate
**Graduated, did not complete eligibility
Graduated and completed eligibility:
Jemal Farmer
Delvon Johnson
TBD:
Michael Sanchez*
Julysses Nobles
Marshawn Powell
Ricky Scott
Madracus Wade
Marvell Waithe
*Graduated
Pel is getting so much better at handling the APR as well, he left us with only one loss of a scholarship while leaving South Alabama missing two and practice time. Pel is ready for his shot for a program to give him time to build it, Mississippi State could be that lucky program.

I put some of the blame on his assistants.
I watched BYU play Florida in the Sweet 16 and noticed their ast coach call every offensive set/play from the bench. I said to myself, that guy knows what he is doing.
Turns out he was like their offensive coordinator. He also just got hired at UNLV.
We need Cunningham and Grant getting more involved on the bench like Kirby used to be.

Just because he has them doesn't mean he will use them.
Pel had Barnes who he relegated to study hall monitor (no joke) while listening to Ostrum...

Stands is a control freak- he doesnt let those guys do anything. It's all on him.
How many times have we needed a basket with under a minute- and Stands has drawn up a play run to perfection? I cant remember any.
Hell, when Bowers score on the final possession after a TO to beat Bama way back when- he told the damn paper he didnt do what Stands drew up, but saw something else and decided to go with that.
They simply dont listen to his arse- you wont win big that way. EVER

Did these two ever actually ever suit up for Arkansas? I've never heard if them not do I ever remember seeing them play.
