Resort to violence? Gotcha.

Here's my statement about the reversal.....

The SEC refs caved to a temper tantrum by Texass when they should have stood firm and sent the message to newbie Texass...,

Welcome to the fricking SEC BAWS!!!!!

Seven games into their first season in the SEC and the SEC office already has to release a statement defending the refs for defending t.u.

As a matter of religious conviction I try to never agree with aggies, but this is on point.

I don't recall holding penalties called at all on UGA's OL. Beck and Ewers both had the yips last night and there's a good chance these teams play again.

The poor conference officiating comment was directed to the last years in the B12; once Texas and OU announced their conference exits to the SEC, the B12 office made it clear every game remaining in that conference would be painful to watch.

SEC to Texas: “We are going to write a very angry letter. Telling you how angry we are.”

That should do it.

I assume you mean this non-call that should've resulted in a safety?

Haha that picture is the first thing I thought about reading that Texas fan’s post. Amazing.

Utter horseshittery. Have never seen that before. This was a reversal induced by the crowd. Someone please post an identical situation which has happened previously.

But the officiating has nothing to do with the outcome…

Honestly, I think they made the right call. It wasn’t PI. The problem is they changed their mind while people were throwing garbage on the field. Even if they did the right call by picking up the flag, they shouldn’t have have done it because of what the crowd was doing. They set a dangerous precedent.

They blew the first call and made it MUCH worse by reversing it. They did not immediately huddle after the play to discuss it. It happened after the crowd was justifiably outraged. Cannot reverse that call. No.Way. The ref needs to be dismissed along with anyone in the SEC office who was involved in covering for him. Such a disgrace.

They need to acknowledge that awful calls happen but reversing them is not permitted.

I don’t like slowing the game down, but unless it’s obvious PI, than automatic reviews need to happen.

SEC refs were intimidated by the Texas fans for making a bad call, so after being threatened by the Texas fans the refs reversed the call. SEC home teams going forward can now resort to violence and get the call reversed if they disagree with the call, right?

Yes. Fans dictate the calls now.

So, the ref “erred”. Can he just pick up the flag and say “never mind, no penalty” and move on with the game?

They do it all the time. The PI call was dog shite. What makes the reversal look so bad is that it only occurred after Texas fans threw stuff on the field.

What actually makes it worse is that at no point ever once the call is announced do they go back and say "never mind". Refs have huddled for a long time before and discussed. What they don't do is announce a penalty and get the teams ready to play, then go back five minutes later and say "ya know what, let's call it off".

Winners dont post stillshot pictures. Dont be like Texas.

Refs make mistakes. Unless they are officiating Texas then their bad calls have to be reversed.

Maybe we should take those big screens out of the stadium or else put them on a 5 minute delay
