Why should non-divisional cupcakes determine divisional titles?

big D

Because rotation has never been a focus in the SEC.

The only important East versus West game is the SECCG.
Is it really that important to cycle through the extra game between Vandy and Miss St? You wouldn't rather see Vandy versus Northwestern? Or Miss St versus Oklahoma State?

Are vols fans upset with Spurrier, b/c he found a solution to give bama what they want, but it might not have been what UTk wanted?

...or is that whole citrus "UT" thing still resonating?

That wasn't his purpose as it is not a realistic expectation. He is making excuses for his lack of divisional championships and sec championships and national championships. Hell he even resorts to insulting y'all by making you out to be a lesser institution by downplaying the idea of Saban accomplishing this at Alabama when according to the rant Bama is nothing without Saban anyway.

Ok seriously his suggestion will never happen. It's not even possible for all we know at this time.

This is not about me. This is about what the SEC stands for: truth, honesty, and fair play, or am I mistaken.

Why should non-divisional cupcakes determine divisional titles?

Can anyone explain?

Are you really an Ohio State fan?
You schedule OOC about as well as Alabama.

And that's middle of the pack kind of good.

Yes for the same reason OH St will get a free ride in that joke of a conference since that is the school you front with but to show the idiocy of your question. Who is to determine who the cupcakes will be from year to year. So games against Kentucky, Vanderbilt, or maybe Florida 2 of the last three years shouldn't count. Just quit trolling you bring nothing intelligent to the discussion.

The SEC has no right to complain about SOS when teams are chosen for the BCS Championship.

Saban can whine all he wants about SOS, but the selection committee should be aware of Bama's private annual cupcake party.

If the SEC West is full of cupcakes, that's not really our fault. Tell LSU and the rest of them to quit being so terrible I guess

Good compared to Ole Miss, maybe.
Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia have all gone out on a limb and scheduled that 2nd OOC AQ game.
Bama nor tOSU does that (im not 100% positive on the Buckeyes. but it doesnt sound like them).

Consequently... let's just say that Bama doesnt go on the road OOC very often.

UGA has played OOC AQ opponents on the road about 9 times in 10 seasons. Bama might have 2 in a dozen seasons. tOSU arent road warriors, either.

Who knew the strength and balance of the entire SEC hinged on UT being good? Really people saying Bama wins because UT is down is tantamount to saying the West provides no competition and the only real competition comes from SEC East-West match-ups.

Many of you are insulting your own division for no real reason at all and all but saying your own team/division can't take care of BAMA. I posted earlier in this thread the final (Jan) Coaches poll rankings and we have what amounts to league parity. I also noted it doesn't matter who wins or loses their cross divisional rivalry or rotating match when it comes to rep'ing your division. If you win in your own division then you're going to the SECCG and have an extremely good shot at going to the Championship game.

Yes but they also have seasons where they don't play a single ranked BCS OOC opponent.

Bama does every year.

2008: #9 Clemson in Atlanta
2009: #7 V Tech in Atlanta
2010: #18 Penn State at home
2011: at #23 Penn State
2012: #8 Michigan in Dallas

Other teams might have a few tough years. 2011 LSU stands out as VERY strong.

But tell me who has a better OOC consistently year in and year out. Anyone?
