It really only became a problem after that and 2012 results and schedule is the ammo for the whine.

Pro sports and college sports are not the same thing. May as well compare college rivarlies to high school rivalries.

You must have missed the entire conversation before that. Govt Tide said LSU fans don't know anything about rivalries. And compared it ice fishing or some retarded shite.

I simply pointed out that we all have pro teams that we are fans of that have big time rivalries.

Maybe there was some disconnect afterwards but I really don't see the issue.

Do you honestly think that the hate between the Celtics/Lakers is greater than Alabama/AU?

There was no crying on here at all in 2011 when UF sucked and y'all beat us by 30 points.
Keep on keepin' on though.

A rivalry is a rivalry. It's not like there's some special college football rivalry that just feels different than any other rivalry.

You want to beat the shite out of your rival no matter what level of play it is.

we also didn't have 2 extra teams come into the league leading to completely fricked up bridge scheduling.

Keep trying.

:sigh: I said TSIO

Bama and AU share a state and have no pro sports in that state. Clearly it's the biggest thing going in Alabama.

Spurrier woulda lost to Bama in the SEC CG.

If TAM had gotten Missouri and Bama got Florida, TAM would have beaten Spurrier--too!

Weak-arse non-divisional schedules are the secret to winning SEC divisional titles.

The SEC preserves the very same type of SOS imbalance for the SEC C.G. that they whine about in regard to the BCS C.G. How ironic!

You must think these rivalries started 2 years ago.

That was the post comparing the rivalries to pro sports rivalries. Show me where I specifically said AU/Bama.

In fact, go back through all of my posts and show where I have ever mentioned the Iron Bowl.

I was talking about TSIO the entire time.

eta now I see what you mean. On a national level, the Lakers and Celtics are bigger than any SEC rivalry. In the state of Alabama and to some others in the SEC (apparently you) the Iron Bowl is the biggest rivalry in sports.

Yea, there isn't a rivalry in the SEC that compares to Lakers/Celtics.

Alabama/AU is a rivalry in the SEC, is it not?
Keep moving those goalposts though.

Kinda odd that UF fans, UT fans, and Bama fans are all lockstep on this. We may despise each other come game day but at least we respect our rivalries and the tradition that goes along with it.

I edited my post. And confirmed that I do in fact think that the Lakers/Celtics rivalry is bigger than any SEC rivalry on a national level.

You know there is another world out there besides the southeast correct?

If you honestly think that AU/Bama game is a big deal to anyone outside of the SEC...well...I don't know.

Are there more Lakers and Celtics fans than Bama and AU fans? Yes.

So yes, there is more hate.

You honestly think the hate from people in 1 state compares to the hate from fans all over the country?

I would bet my life's savings that 20% of the country, outside of the south, wouldn't know what you were talking about if you mentioned the Iron Bowl.

And a lot of people from the south too.
