It is, as always, important to note that SP+ is intended to be predictive and forward-facing. It is not a résumé ranking that gives credit for big wins or particularly brave scheduling -- no good predictive system is. It is simply a measure of the most sustainable and predictable aspects of football. If you're lucky or unimpressive in a win, your rating will probably fall. If you're strong and unlucky in a loss, it will probably rise.

Still has some preseason stuff in it, plus it recognizes UGA was playing the #5 defense (same reasons Clemson's offense is #17).

If UGA has 315 yards and 27 points against UAB this weekend? I'm guessing they'll be down around 25-30 the next week.

I have missed aggressive defense greatly. I hate Chris Allen was hurt.

It was awesome watching a game 1 vs a Veteran, quality QB and seeing the D just pin their ears back at times and attack.

I'm convinced the strength of an attacking Saban D lies with the strength and football IQ of his interior LBs.

Things look good on D as a whole. Love the pressure off the edges. Strength upfront and athletic, aggressive secondary (so damn aggressive one Drew a PI for simply being on the field).

19 on offense with 5 turnovers. I'll take it.
