They hired Urban Meyer?

I understand the USCe fans knighting for their new coach, but how do you guys really reply about the hire? On a scale of 1-10?
I personally thought he needed a few years to decompress as a coordinator before trying his hand as a HC again. But, who knows...maybe he saw the writing on the wall for Gus' future at AU and felt that he'd have no leverage if he stayed another year longer on the plains as DC.

Make no mistake. No coach in history under performed based on expectations than Muschamp.

Why are you so scared. You should be happy if you think we hired a bad coach. It seems like the smart thing to do would be to be quiet and just let it happen. However, you want to make an opinion known, why? How nervous are you really?

The fact that you morons don't understand results based on expectations doesn't make your argument better. Your school just hired the worst football coach in our history. Florida now and Florida in the 70s is far from the same. Spurrier created a monster. Meyer showed how to use the monster. Muschamp chopped off our tail. Florida is easy to win at now. Even Zook could recruit 4-6 five stars a year

meh,
I didn't really see a huge difference between Spurrier and Holtz at USCe save those 11 win seasons when the east was DOWN.
You mean like when SCAR was kicking Bama's arse up and down the field ... oh wait, both Holtz and Spurrier did that, I forgot.
Carlen was fired for banging a cheerleader ... which he married, had a Son with, and lived happily ever after. I loved Jim, great guy. Got a raw deal from Holderman. Produced a Heisman, produced Mark Dantonio, among others.
Joe Mo died in the shower of a heart attack over the SI Steroid Scandal, but not before the 87 team which was maybe one of our most talented teams ever. Twenty guys off of that team played in the NFL including Sterling Sharpe, Chris Rumph and Corey Miller. Let's see, Miller coached at Bama, Rumph's son is currently enrolled at Bama ... not processed yet?
Glad to know you are keeping up with us though. I'd do the post Bear years with Perkins and Curry, and the post Stallings years with DuBose, Franchione and Shula ... but you're Bama, and those years don't exist I guess you judgmental pretentious little frick.

Spurriers work at Usce was amazing. He did fall off at the end I think he stopped caring enough. Did it at UF too showed his last two recruiting classes. Took us awhile to recover and Zook took the blame

What year was it ... 80 maybe, when Florida was about like SCAR was in '99, y'all went something like 0-10-1?
Your Daddy was probably still in grammar school around then ... so I do not expect you to remember those days.
Enjoy your success. Don't jinx it with fricktardedness. SPURrier did good things for us, we'll be forever indebted to him. I have a feeling mUSChamp will do well here too ... and sooner, because he actually recruits.

Let's just think about just how dumb the hire is. Florida's best coach couldn't win the SEC at USCE.
Actually Muschamp did alright at UF...not GREAT by any means, but alright. The main things that stand out are:
1) He did win most of the games that he was supposed to win (a notable exception was the infamous loss to Georgia Southern though)
2) His main problem was that he had a horrible record against UF's main rivals (1-3 against UF's biggest intra-division rival Georgia, 1-3 against UF's biggest inter-division rival LSU, and 1-3 against UF's biggest out-of-conference rival FSU).
I can only conclude from all of this that SCar under Muschamp will win most of the games that they are expected to win, but they should only plan on beating Georgia, Texas A&M, and Clemson each only once every four years or so--and then losing to the Citadel once every four years.

Why do you care so much? You just went to the SEC title game. Shouldn't you be more concerned about ole Limey Teeth teaching Treon how to hit water from a boat?
Treon's not a longterm QB- worst case scenario he plays poorly for the first half of next year- we start 5-1 or 6-0 and then we shift gears and put in Grier.

Woah, slow down there old chap! Recruiting at Florida is one thing, recruiting to South Carolina is another. All that talent Muschamp got was in-state at Florida. Let's wait until he gets his first class together before we jump into conclusions.

I'll call it a 7.
We fell off and became shitty because Spurrier replaced good assistants with poor ones. Not only poor on the field coaches, but poor recruiters. Spurrier is a lazy recruiter, and that can work at UF when the school basically sells itself and there is a massive amount of talent in state. It worked at USC for a couple years when we had good assistants and some local talent (Clowney, Gilmore, etc). But for the most part, that approach does not work at USC. We need a guy who works his arse off on the trail along with his assistants. Muschamp does that. It's all about fit.
Now can Muschamp attract talent on offense, not just defense? Can he get his assistants on offense to stay more than 1 year? That's the big question. I hope he's corrected his mistakes from UF.
