Using the FEI ELS metric. Pretty much the only SoS I consider valid since it's not based on averages.

Strength of schedule ratings represent the number of losses a team two standard deviations above average would expect to have against the schedule of opponents (ELS),

Only for games played thus far, doesn't count future games. Listed in order by overall rank, expected losses to the right.

#3 Auburn - 1.41
#4 Arkansas - 1.30
#5 Alabama - 1.22
#6 Tennessee - 1.19
#7 Georgia - 1.16
#8 Kentucky - 1.13
#9 Texas - 1.11
#10 Florida - 1.07
#21 South Carolina - 0.87
#23 Texas A&M - 0.85
#27 Missouri - 0.82
#27 Ole Miss - 0.82
#30 Vanderbilt - 0.77
#35 Miss St - 0.70
#36 Oklahoma - 0.67
#38 LSU - 0.63

Non SEC Top10:

#14 Indiana - 0.97
#26 Miami - 0.83
#31 Oregon - 0.76
#50 Ohio St - 0.51
#107 Georgia Tech - 0.12

8 of the top 10 spots are held by SEC teams. #1 is Wisconsin, 1.64 and #2 is Illinois, 1.55.

Indiana should be ranked #1 in the polls, not Ohio St if we are going by what they have done.

They played Ohio St in the season opener, and they've had a few SEC games as well.

Playing elite teams is rewarded more in this formula compared to playing a bunch of mediocre teams that average out well that you might see in others.
