It's not politically driven at all.
OU vs OSU is not texsa vs aggie or Alabama vs Auburn. Look at the series record.
They're happy to have us off of their schedule in football. It's never been anything for them but a source of personal pain and embarrassment. They have zero incentive to add us back to their schedule, and will avoid doing so at all costs.

This is absolutely backwards regarding their fans...
They care about nothing else than the outside chance that they will beat OU in that game. They won two out of the last three... but to win one or two a decade gave them something to hang their hat on.
They don't care about any other game...and every year that the game was in Stillwater... they demonstrated it by not showing up for any other home games but the OU game.
