Monica Abbott was freaking amazing. One of the best to ever play - period. I hadn't realized it until you brought her up but she cited the way Tennessee treated its female athletes from the university itself to fan support as a huge factor in her recruitment. Joan Cronan and Pat Summitt and the way we ran our women's AD were huge. And of course, the way Knoxville has always embraced women's sports with Joan and Pat obviously being key to that.

I had always wondered how we wound up getting her since she's from California and while we weren't bad we weren't a dynasty program. Turns out treating women well helps when recruiting women. Who woulda thunk it?

For those who don’t know, OU treats this like a road game and even stays in a hotel in OKC during playoffs.

OU is 58-1.
Pretty sure that's a good enough data-set to draw the conclusion that playing them in your house isn't an advantage.

Ballgame. But good news Vols fans.. you will switch to the other side of the bracket.

Had Tenn won then OU gets sent to other side of bracket but Tenn would also have Sun off. No matter what after todays game they were going to different brackets. But Tenn wasted a game and now has no room for error. I think of the other 8 starters and how unfair it was to them to not start the pitcher who had the best chance to win.

I'm sure they do but it's 30 mins away and a home game. This game should be rotated. OKC is an awesome venue but it's unfair to everyone else that it's in one spot.

The WCWS is played at ASA Stadium. Pretty sure that's the American Softball Association. The softball hall of fame is in OKC. They have hosted international tournaments at this venue. Do we need to move all that because OU is good at softball too?

He thinks OU wins because it's in OKC and that's some big advantage......or something.

Oklahoma play 18 home games this year and they dominated all but one of the rest on the road. The WCWS could be played on the moon and they would run rule the majority of these teams and that's a fact. That is how good these girls have prepared and are playing. Please respect that fact. That is how hard they have worked. If you want your team to have this same so-called home field advantage... Have your state build a $100 million dollar facility and then go lobby when our lease is up. Until then just get better. We have six national championships. Nobody was bitching when the PAC was winning these motherfrickers here in Oklahoma City. It sure wasn't a OU advantage then. And oh by the way, nobody's saying Oklahoma State has an advantage! Why aren't those girls catching any shite? That's a damn good team too but for some reason they get beat in OKC.

Maybe Nebraska should be winning the MCWS every year since they have all that home field advantage and shite lol. Dumbass logic.

Yeah, I’m aware. I’m asking the dude who wants it rotated where he thinks it should be played.

We're talking about softball here, dude. They don't play in huge stadiums with 100k screaming fans.

Lets look at what OKC Mayor had to say in reply to someone bitchimg about it:

Shot:

Danielle O’Toole Trejo OLY

Replying to @notarabledays

This might be an unpopular take, but I think we’re ready for the WCWS to move out of OKC to a bigger home.

Chaser:

Mayor David Holt
@davidfholt

OKC just nearly doubled the stadium size (2021) at a public cost of $40M. As far as I’m aware, it’s by far the biggest softball stadium in America and certainly the nicest. That investment led to a long term commitment from the NCAA through 2035. That’s kind of the end of that.

We have been called cheaters and we only win becuase the games are played in Oklahoma . OU has played every football title game either in the home state of the school or one state over … it’s what it is . Nebraska should have an edge in baseball but they don’t ….. it’s really a lame argument . We just have passionate fans and they buy tickets as soon as they are made available . The sec is playing most of their games because of rpi in baseball and half the teams are now eliminated or behind in their own regionals
… good teams find ways to win facts .

My fault, I thought you’d actually given this “it needs rotate” some actual thought. But, sure, just rotate it to all the other “hosts” with such softball stadiums around the country.

Don't apologize. The fault is mine. I didn't realize you were such a homer that you couldn't see that having the series at the same place since 1990 and scheduled to continue until 2035 is absurd.

These whiners are just poor sports. They have no real idea or input - its an annual bitchfest worthy of its own hall of shame.

There is no softball stadium even 1/3rd the size. Its centrally located. Its the Hall of Fame and has 4 fields. Its been improved at least 5 times in past 20 years and continues to do so, paid for by OKC taxplayers. It sells out often. Its in the 20th largest city in America with plentiful hotels.

USA Softball gave OKC the contract thru 2035. And between now and then it will keep getting improvements. Not one venue in America comes close to this one. Will another city spend $200m to build something that just equals it - more if want to exceed it? Meanwhile thos venue keeps getting improved.

Poor sports bring this up every year. We need to start a Hall of Shame list to keep track of these whiners.

Do you bitch to the city of Omaha for the men's College World Series too or do you give them a pass since Nebraska doesn't take advantage of that "home field advantage?"

Or is it possible, OU softball could probably beat the brakes off of anyone anywhere at any time? I think they prove that about 40 times this year on the road? And against top 10 teams to the tune of run rules... Know what you're talking about before you spout dumbass shite.

Omaha shouldn't have a lock either. The dumbassery is all yours in assuming you should have a divine right to hosting every year.
