"Contain" is just horribly misleading.
Now had you said "keep JFF from scoring on literally every possession while personally amassing over 500 yards," I guess that's fine.

Well, I said "contain just enough". It is not misleading at all. That says he did his thing but was stopped enough times for the other teams to get the win. I would say that is very accurate. It shows that JFF got his yards and points but was stopped just a few times adn that was the difference in winning and losing.

There's really just one two:
1) knock JFF out for a couple possessions.
2) score TDs off turnovers.
Sometimes you need both. And of course scoring over 40 is a shared condition.

You didn't qualify contain in your initial post.
Regardless, it's not really "containing" when the kid rapes your defense for nearly the entire game.
Contained should be reserved for games in which you actually prevent the player from doing whatever he wants sans like 2 possessions. Contained connotes a good defensive performance; that the D carried the day. But we all know TAMU lost those games because of its defense--the only one that's really stopped JFF.
But we're just discussing semantics now.
It just struck me as odd that you'd use "contain" to describe what AU and Bama did against JFF, even if you qualified it.

Contain just enough means JFF went off on AU the whole game save the final drive where he was sacked twice...that is why we won.
