They're legitimately trying to make it so that the SEC stops winning when in reality there are going to be even more SEC teams floating in those spots .
Shutup Boomer.

You think this just slipped everyone’s mind when they decided? More teams involved in the playoffs gives more teams hope whether realistic or not

Who in the hell wanna see 12 teams in college football playoffs. Clemson and Notre Dame are getting in every year.

I was all for 6 teams but what's after 12?? 24???

2 losses in the SEC is not 2 losses in the Pac 12.

Dude that’s exactly why they’re expanding….

The NFL is barely even football anymore. No it’s not a better product, it isn’t a good product at all.

Yea nothing like watching non competitive teams play for no reason. We have a regular season for that.

This is what happens when you send the kids (Sankey) to negotiate instead of the dudes who really run this conference. Texas will clean up y'alls mess eventually.

A transient program who can’t beat up on cripple teams is gonna save college football?

You pearl clutchers have been by far the most annoying part of this entire thing.

Yes, if you don’t want to get in the playoffs. What kind of moronic question is this?

Of course someone like you would call stating the truth “Pearl clutching”. Nobody’s being emotional except you and your hyperbolic statements as always.

I like the idea of a 12 team playoff. This should keep a lot of college footballs best players from opting out of bowl games or giving up later in the season.

Yep the argument will be whether a 3 loss SEC team with the new 9 game SEC schedule should go over some other 2 loss FBS teams. There are some years there are twelve 10 win teams prior to the conference championship games.

I’m being hyperbolic? I’m not the one acting like playoff expansion will be the death of college football

Well I didn’t say it would be the death of college football because it already has terminal cancer. This is just the latest tumor.

Not only does it make the regular season worthless, but why schedule quality OOC games?
If the playoff committee does their job the right way, they’ll heavily stress strength of schedule. Which would lead to better OOC games.

Gwak

There's only ever three good teams in the playoff as it is.

We just went from "probably get into the payoffs" to "stone cold lock for the playoffs" For Alabama, Ohio St, and Clemson - And pick any two every year out of Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, and maybe even Texas A&M or Florida. They will be sick of seeing SEC teams in the playoffs unless they put a limit on number of conference participants.

JMHO. If they go by rankings alone, I predict that it won't be too long before they institute some top secret ballot poll to select the 12 instead of using AP, etc. just to spread out the teams.

Looking at past records I doubt the SEC gets more than 3 teams in most years.

Honestly, the G5 needs 2 spots. Highest G5 champ and highest G5 at large, given they are in the top 20. That way you have 5 P5 Champs and 5 P5 at larges.

There needs to be rules about seeding to avoid rematches. If you’re a 5-8 seed, you can be placed where ever.
